Charter 1976... Roots dating back to 1832 Raymond FD is 100% VOLUNTEER.

In 1832, Raymond Fire Company #1 was formed by a group of local merchants and willing residents of the community. Their efforts were the beginning of a life saving and property protection organization that has evolved into the department that you see today. The Raymond Fire Department services the citizens of the City of Raymond, MS and Hinds County. Volunteering is the practice of people working on behalf of others without being motivated by financial or material gain.

What an impact Dr Muse had. Please remember his family during this difficult time. We will always be thankful for the support he gave to our dept and community through the years.

Today, we pause to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Vernon "Clyde" Muse, a visionary leader, devoted educator, and true champion for Hinds Community College.

Dr. Museโ€™s impact on our institution and our state is immeasurable. Through decades of leadership, he expanded opportunities, strengthened communities, and shaped the lives of countless students, faculty, and alumni. His unwavering belief in the power of education transformed Hinds into a place where dreams are realized and futures are built.

More than a president, Dr. Muse was a mentor, a friend, and an enduring symbol of what it means to lead with purpose and heart.

As we remember his remarkable life, we carry forward his legacy, continuing the work he so passionately endeavored for 42 years while honoring the standard of excellence he set for us all.

Forever a part of Hinds. Forever an inspiration.

๐Ÿšฉ EXTREME FIRE DANGER THIS WEEKEND ๐Ÿšฉ

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for all of Mississippi this Saturday. Conditions are primed for "explosive fire growth."

The Forecast:

๐Ÿ’จ Winds: 10โ€“20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

๐Ÿ“‰ Humidity: Dropping as low as 20%.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Impact: In these dry, windy conditions, any fire that starts will spread rapidly and become difficult to control.

The safest move: Do not attempt any outdoor burning. ๐Ÿšซ Whether itโ€™s a small debris pile or a burn barrel, one gust of wind can carry an ember over a half-mile away.

Please help us protect our homes, our forests, and our first responders. Wait for conditions to improve before you light that match.

Very important notice. This is really a public service notice.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of long-time RFD member Jack Hite, who served Raymond FD for approximately 32 years. Throughout his tenure, he held various roles, including secretary, treasurer, and Captain. Additionally, he was the longest-serving current employee of Hinds Community College, with approximately 45 years of service. If you were familiar with Raymond or Hinds, chances are you knew Jack and he more than likeley helped you along the way. With the many roles Jack filled, including firefighter, policeman, counselor, preacher, husband, father, and many more, the most important role he held was that of a Christian. With this, we take comfort in knowing that we will be reunited with him one day. Rest in peace, Jack. Your work here is done, and we are confident that you heard the words "Well done, my good and faithful servant". Please keep the Hite family in your prayers during this difficult time.
