Big Adventures at the Library!
Our Pre-K friends(ages 3 to 5), at Raymond Christian Academy dropped by for a visit on a super fun field trip, all the way to the Raymond Public Library!
For many of our littlest learners, this was their very first visit to a library and what a wonderful introduction it was! Wide eyes, big smiles, and lots of “wow, look at ALL these books!” moments filled the air. This trip was extra special because the children are learning all about Community Helpers , the amazing people who work every day to make our community a better place. During the visit, the children discovered that the library is full of helpers! From the Branch Manager to the volunteers, everyone plays an important role in helping readers learn, explore, and have fun.
Our first stop was meeting the Branch Manager, Ms. Tasha, who, like a librarian, helped visitors find just the right book, answered all kinds of questions, and made everyone feel welcome. Behind the scenes, she also kept the library running smoothly, making sure the books, programs, and people all worked together to create a wonderful place for the community.
Next, we met Ms. Kristy, the friendly face who helped visitors find the right books and checked them out to send home with readers. She showed us the computers that visitors could use for learning and research.
Then, we met volunteer Mrs. Nancy. She read us a story about how libraries are community spaces filled with stories, discovery, friendship, and endless books.
But perhaps the most special part of the day was seeing children experience the library for the very first time. There is something truly magical about introducing young readers to a place filled with stories, imagination, discovery, and endless possibilities. For many of these Pre-K explorers, this visit was the beginning of a lifelong journey with books, learning, and adventure. Watching their faces light up as they discovered the wonder waiting on every shelf was a joyful reminder of why libraries matter so much to our community.
