We’re continuing to “Unearth A Story” this summer at the Raymond Public Library!

Did you know there are 191 bee species in Mississippi, but only one makes honey? That’s just one of the fascinating things we uncovered this morning during our Summer Reading Presentation, featuring Brian K. Lamb with Bubba’s Bee! We also learned how bees work together in hives, collecting nectar from flowers and making it into honey using teamwork, patience, and purpose in every drop.
After learning all about bees, everyone especially enjoyed a sample of sweet of honey.
From buzzing bees to exciting books, we’re continuing to “Unearth A Story” and discover the hidden treasures reading has to offer. Remember to make learning fun, join us at the Raymond Public Library this summer as we keep minds sharp, spark imagination, and build a lifelong love of learning.

Make Learning Fun This Summer at the Raymond Public Library!

Summer reading is in full swing, and today we’re bringing the excitement to life with our “Unearth a Story” theme! In addition to our regularly scheduled stroytime on Fridays at 10am. We’re hosting a special storytime just for older children ages 7–10 every Tuesday at 2 PM right here at the Raymond Public Library!

Our storytime today was full of imagination, laughter, and something a little extra special! Our older children enjoyed 15 minutes of independent reading, choosing their own books to dive into before jumping into the remaining storytime fun.

What’s summer without a little outdoor fun? We wrapped things up with an outdoor game designed to build teamwork and sportsmanship, because learning happens everywhere, even outside! Today was a perfect example that summer reading can be both books and outdoor adventures!

Join us as we read, create, play, and unearth a story, discovering together that learning is always an adventure!
