Getting to “Y”. A program where students use data to identify the issues or concerns in their community, work together with other students to discuss top concerns and contributing factors, and put ideas in place to make a difference.

Our students had their first presentation to Raymond high school administrators which turned out to be a learning opportunity for all.

Sometimes the things that seem easy to fix actually have policies and procedures in place that make things a bit more complex.

We want to thank Pricipal Dannible and Vice Principal McCann for taking the time to listen, share, and brainstorm some possible solutions with these students.

Everyone agrees Va**ng is an issue in our community, not just our schools and not just our community. Finding ways to help raise awareness to the risks and dangers for parents and students alike is the challenge.

We had a great discussion about supporting students who want to quit. Identifying trusted adults in the building they can go to for “quit bags” and resources to access help and support.

Great stuff!!

Saying goodbye to our Seniors is never easy We are deeply grateful for the time, talents and contributions, they have shared throughout their journey with RCFY Youth Action.
Our students often tell us that becoming part of RCFY feels like a second family, a place they make real friendships with peers they might never have met otherwise. That sense of connection is what makes this group so special.
We hope our seniors carry those memories with them and always remember that they will remain a part of the RCFY family.
We can't wait to see what your future brings and, hopefully, and in what ways you will mentor and inspire the next group of youth!

As we wrap up May we say thank you!

Thank you to our many partners and community members who helped us raise awareness in countless ways to the importance of our mental health and community.

We had Operation Raymond Clean Up, Project Safeguard, present at our monthly RCFY meeting, to Y youth leadership training, we worked with Raymond Rec to kick off summer play ground, and emergency service’s did Fatal Reality, countless volunteers cleaned up neighborhoods and spread awareness to the importance of taking care of our mental health and well being. 💚

This is our community in action, taking care of each other, this is something to be very much proud of. ❤️

Energy drinks in general need to be discussed, it’s not just a Starbucks issue.

Parents has put together a great article with lots of resources and information to help have this discussion about why energy drinks really are not good for young people. While parents can consume them, they need to set some boundaries to keep their kids safe when it comes to caffeine, taurine, and sugar! Their bodies and brains are developing and their future health depends upon it.

Starbucks added three Iced Energy Drinks to its menu. Here's what experts say about the offering and why kids shouldn't drink it.
