A Little About Us — Who We Are, What We Do & Why We Do It ❤️🚑
Who are we?
We are Raymond Harvel Ambulance Service — a small, community-based ambulance service made up primarily of volunteers, along with one staff member.
What do we do?
We provide compassionate emergency care and transportation to those in our community when they need it most.
But how do we do it?
While we may be a small volunteer service, we train just like the “big guys.” Our providers are required to maintain the same certifications, training, and standards as larger departments. We are also required to carry and maintain the equipment necessary to provide the care our patients deserve.
When we arrive on a scene, everything we do — and sometimes everything it may appear we aren’t doing — has a purpose.
Our scenes are handled with the utmost care, professionalism, and respect for our patients and their families. We follow established protocols, medical direction, and the guidelines set forth by the State and our participating hospitals.
So if you ever see us doing something and wonder “Why are they doing that?” — or see us standing around and think “Why aren’t they doing anything?” — remember:
There is a method to our madness. 😉
Every assessment, every question, every decision, and even every moment of waiting has a reason behind it. We are constantly assessing, communicating, reassessing, and making thoughtful decisions based on what is best for the patient.
Our ambulance service and fire department work together as a team, because at the end of the day, it isn’t about us — it’s about YOU. Our goal is to make sure our patients receive the right care, at the right time, and get to the appropriate facility as safely and quickly as possible.
And here’s the best part…
One of the people showing up when you need help may be your friend, your neighbor, or even a member of your own family.
But even if you don’t personally know us, we are all members of the same community. We live here. We work here. We care about this community — and we are proud to serve it.
We may be small, but our commitment is anything but.
