🚑 ONE TEAM, ONE FIGHT. 🚑

It really does take a village to get the job done, and we couldn’t be prouder of the incredible network of professionals we stand alongside every day. Emergency response is a massive puzzle, and every single moving piece matters.

Today, we want to extend a massive THANK YOU to our dispatchers and our incredible mutual aid partners:

Our Dispatchers: The calm, guiding voices behind the scenes who keep us organized and safe.

Illinois State Police (ISP) & Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MCSO): Thank you for always having our backs, securing the scene, and keeping our community safe.

Raymond Harvel Fire Department: Our brothers and sisters in red—thank you for your seamless teamwork, heavy lifting, and dedication.

Our Neighboring EMS & Fire Departments: Whenever the call goes out, you answer without hesitation.

No single agency can do this alone. When the tone drops, there are no boundaries—just one mission. We are deeply grateful for the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice of everyone who steps up to protect our community.

Thank you for being part of the team. We've got your back, and we know you’ve got ours! 🤝❤️

EMS Week may be over, but our recognition of the incredible people who make our service what it is will continue — past and present alike.

This guy, David Weir, would probably rather avoid any recognition at all. He’s the calm in the storm, the quiet presence behind the chaos, and someone who never seeks the spotlight. Yet he contributes to our service in ways that are difficult to put into words.

When he’s not serving alongside us at RHAS, his absence is truly felt. But when he’s away, he’s serving our country, and for that we are eternally grateful.

Some people don’t ask for recognition, but they deserve it all the same. Thank you, David, for everything you do — both for our service and for our nation

🇺🇸 Memorial Day 2026 🇺🇸

Today, Raymond-Harvel Ambulance Service pauses to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness gave us the freedoms we enjoy every day. We are forever grateful to those who gave everything in service to our nation.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us also take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this day and honor the heroes who never made it home. ❤️🤍💙

From all of us at RHAS — thank you to our fallen heroes and to the families who carry their legacy each day.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Barb! 🚑💙

For nearly 16 years (including 14 years full-time days, but she’s been known to grace you with her presence all hours of the day or night ), Barb has been a dedicated part of the RHAS family — and for her, it’s much more than volunteering. She says RHAS has “shaped every part of my life.”

Barb’s journey started close to home. After seeing the incredible care RHAS gave her dad during an illness, she knew she wanted to be there for others the same way. And ever since, she’s been answering the call. ❤️

What’s her favorite part of volunteering? Knowing she’s helping people in need and getting to know her RHAS family better

A few fun facts about Barb:
☕ Coffee over energy drinks… preferably Megan- (if you know, you know 👀)
🥨 Go-to shift snack: Pretzels
😂 Once voted “Quietest” in school… . “What happened to me?! EMS happened “
🛠️ Favorite EMS tool? “My friend Lucas. Hate to use him, glad to have him.” (Stop by and she’ll introduce you… just please don’t make her use him!)

And if you asked Barb to describe her volunteer experience in one word? She couldn’t. She gave us: Life-changing. Fulfilling. Family.

Thank you, Barb, for your years of service, dedication, humor, and heart. We’re lucky to have you as part of the RHAS family! 👏🚑💙

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Helene 🌟

Today we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Helene, one of the dedicated EMT volunteers who has been serving with Raymond Harvel Ambulance Service for an incredible 34 years! 🚑👏 she is also our captain !

Helene began volunteering because she wanted to help people and give back to the community — and for over three decades, she’s done exactly that.

For Helene, being part of RHAS means working with a strong organization alongside some amazing people. Her favorite part of responding?
Getting to know her patients and earning the trust they place in her.

When asked to describe her volunteer experience in one word, she chose: “Satisfying.” ❤️

A few fun facts about Helene:
☕ Coffee or energy drinks? Coffee — definitely! (“Got coffee, I’m good!”)
: Anybody who has run with me without
… understands! 😂
🎵 Walk-in song: “I Can’t Drive 55” – Sammy Hagar

Thank you, Helene, for your 34 years of dedication, compassion, and service to our community. Volunteers like you are what make RHAS so special! 💙🚑
