🚨🚨 AUTO BURGLARY UPDATE 🚨🚨

On February 6, 2026 at approximately 2:45pm, Officers with the Raymond Police Department, and Hinds Campus Police Department executed two search warrants on two separate dorm rooms on the Campus of Hinds CC. A significant amount of evidence was recovered - including three fi****ms.

Two suspects were arrested on auto burglary warrants during the search (more charges to follow):

Jeremiah Wilson (19) of Jackson

Tevyn Haymore (18) of Greenwood

We will be in contact with anyone who reached out to us who was visited by these suspects - even if nothing was taken - to compile an accurate number of charges and hopefully return some stolen property.

We would like to extend a sincere thanks to the Officers of the Hinds Campus Police Department, numerous civilian employees of Hinds that have been instrumental, and the countless citizens who have called in and provided us with videos and information related to this case. THANK YOU!

🚨🚨 Auto Burglaries 🚨🚨

We have had a couple of auto burglaries of unlocked vehicles reported this morning on Dupree Street and a couple outside the city limits on Pine Hill that I'm aware of.

Please check your vehicles and report anything even if you didn't have anything taken - it helps us establish a timeline and area of impact.

Two black males on foot are our suspects at the moment - they were captured on camera going through one vehicle.

Anyone with cameras, please check those for us for last night.

Lastly, please make sure to lock your doors - to your vehicles and your houses - and don't leave fi****ms and valuables in your vehicles if at all possible.

Yesterday, Captain Al Barlow (Sgt. Barlow with the SO) and I had the privilege of attending the retirement party for Byram Police Chief David Errington. I have known Chief Errington for nearly 20 years and he has been a great law enforcement partner in the metro area. We wish him all the best in his new chapter of life and we look forward to a great continued partnership with the new administration at the Byram Police Department. Enjoy your retirement, Chief!

🚨With the potential for winter weather approaching this weekend and possibly stretching into early next week, we STRONGLY encourage folks to take necessary steps to prepare now.

🚨Of particular note: inclement weather does NOT waive the applicability of State traffic laws. 4-wheelers, Side by sides, and other off-road vehicles are still unlawful to operate on public roadways.

🚨If you need special assistance due to weather-related issues, and we are able to, we will be glad to assist you however we can. Officers will still be on-duty 24/7 regardless of the severity of the weather.

🚨🚨Raymond Halloween🚨🚨

Halloween is this Friday! Just a few final reminders to make sure we have a fun and safe night of Trick-or-Treating:

👻No side-by-sides, 4-wheelers, or ATVs on public roads or right-of-ways.

👻No unregistered golf carts on public roads or right-of-ways.

👻No trailers or hayrides carrying passengers on public roads or right-of-ways.

👻No children in the beds of pickup trucks on public roads or right-of-ways.

🎃Registered street-legal golf carts are welcome (like any other day of the year)

🎃McLendon Circle will be converted into a one-way street for the duration of Trick-or-Treating (enter on the City Limits side and exit at the Dentist Office - walking trick-or-treaters can enter at either end though)

🎃Please wear reflective clothing and carry flashlights so you can easily be seen by motorists.

🎃Please adhere to sidewalks where available and be mindful of vehicle traffic.

We look forward to seeing everyone Friday night! There is still time to get a street-legal golf cart registered by Friday. You can contact City Hall at 601-857-8041 for details.

🎃🎃 Halloween is coming!🎃🎃

Halloween will take place on October 31 (like every year) which happens to be a Friday this year.

Just a few reminders to help us have a fun and safe trick-or-treating night:

👻 NO trailers/hayrides carrying passengers down a public roadway or right-of-way
👻NO 4-wheelers, ATVs, or side-by-sides on a public roadway or right-of-way
🛺 Legally registered golf carts and slow-moving vehicles are welcome! Still plenty of time to get a cart street legal and inspected before Halloween!
👻We encourage everyone to wear reflective materials and carry flashlights to help motorists see you - it's getting dark earlier and earlier!

If you have any questions about what qualifies as a street legal golf cart or slow-moving vehicle or questions about the registration process you can reach out to City Hall at 601-857-8041 and they will be happy to help you.

We look forward to seeing everyone trick-or-treating!

With School preparing to resume for the Fall, this is an issue we begin to see more prevalently.

Mississippi Code 63-3-907 states:
"Except where angle parking is permitted by local ordinance or usage, every vehicle stopped or parked upon a roadway where there is an adjacent curb shall be stopped or parked with the right-hand wheels of such vehicle parallel with and within twelve inches of the right-hand curb."

If you park against the flow of traffic, you are in violation of this statute.

We will be writing tickets for this - so help us keep traffic moving safely in our city (and avoid a ticket) by parking with the flow of traffic.
