WANTED PERSON

The Rayne Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Lindracus Mouton, 28, of Rayne, who is wanted on a charge of criminal damage to property.

The charge stems from a complaint involving damage to political campaign signs. Campaign signs are private property, and damaging, defacing, or removing them may result in criminal charges. All complaints will be investigated, and charges will be pursued when supported by the evidence.

On the mornings of August 2nd and August 8th, two individuals carried out a series of vehicle burglaries on the northeast and south sides of Rayne. Using footage from Louisiana Crime Fighters cameras, investigators identified both suspects and arrested them after executing search warrants at their residences on August 8th and 9th.

Investigators believe the pair are responsible for significantly more vehicle burglaries than those captured on camera, as many incidents were not reported to law enforcement by vehicle owners. Among the confirmed thefts, a handgun was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

The investigation also uncovered one instance in which the suspects attempted to break a vehicle's window after spotting a firearm and a wallet inside. The attempt was unsuccessful, and the suspects were unable to gain entry.

Both suspects have prior arrests for similar offenses. Dupuis is currently on probation, and agents with Louisiana Probation and Parole have placed a detainer on him, preventing him from bonding out of jail.

Sage Hanks, age 30, of the 1800 block of East Jeff Davis, was arrested and charged with:
10 counts of simple burglary
6 counts of attempted simple burglary
Theft of a firearm
Felon in possession of a firearm
Possession of Schedule I CDS
Possession of stolen items valued over $5000
During the search of Hanks' apartment, officers recovered a stolen motorcycle and several stolen handguns originating from other jurisdictions. Hanks is currently held in Rayne City Jail awaiting booking into Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office Jail. Bond has not yet been set.

Blaze Dupuis, age 26, of the 800 block of Jenkins Road, Duson, was arrested and charged with:
10 counts of simple burglary (Vehicle)
6 counts of attempted simple burglary (Vehicle)
Theft of a firearm
Felon in possession of a firearm
Dupuis is currently held in Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Jail awaiting booking into Rayne City Jail and Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office Jail. Bond has not yet been set.

The Rayne Police Department is grateful to announce a generous donation of medical trauma kits from Med Express. The donated kits contain tourniquets and other critical “Stop the Bleed” supplies designed to help officers provide immediate lifesaving care during medical emergencies.

These trauma kits were issued to patrol officers, ensuring they have the equipment needed to quickly respond to serious injuries involving traumatic bleeding. Rapid intervention during the first few minutes of an emergency can significantly improve a victim’s chances of survival until emergency medical personnel arrive.

Chief Carroll Stelly expressed his appreciation for the donation, stating, “We are sincerely grateful to Med Express for their generosity and commitment to the safety of our community. Having these trauma kits available gives our officers additional tools to provide lifesaving assistance when every second counts.”

The Rayne Police Department recognizes the importance of partnerships with local businesses and organizations that invest in the safety and well-being of the community. Donations such as these enhance the department’s ability to protect and serve the citizens of Rayne.

Chief Carroll Stelly announces that on May 17, 2026, the Rayne Police Department received a complaint regarding shots fired on 7th St.

Based on the subsequent investigation, Charlotte Faye Dupont, 56, of Rayne, was arrested on May 17, 2026, and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder (La. R.S. 14:30 / 14:27).

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On April 9, 2026, at 10:54 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Rylekwun Poullard, 29, of Greenwood Way, Lake Charles, on an outstanding City of Rayne arrest warrant. Poullard faces five counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and five counts of computer solicitation of a minor.

City of Rayne officers and Calcasieu Parish deputies executed a search warrant at Poullard's residence located on Greenwood Way to collect evidence related to the ongoing investigation. Poullard will be transferred to the Acadia Parish Jail, where he is being held on a $100,000 bond.

The Rayne Police Department remains committed to the protection of children and will continue to work with partner agencies to investigate and prosecute those who exploit minors.
