RVFD was paged out to a swather fire at 3:00 today. This fire was pretty much under control by the land owner who had trucks close by with water tanks, always a great idea! RVFD helped with mop up. While on the way to the first call out, RFVD was paged to a 2nd fire for mutual aid for Belt Rural Fire District to fires started by dragging chains by a vehicle. Passerby’s were a great help in containing the fire until Belt Rural Fire District and RVFD arrived on scene. Both fires were successfully extinguished. On the scene with the fire departments were Cascade County Sheriff Dept, Judith Basin Sheriff’s Office and Montana Highway Patrol.

🚨Incident South Of Eddies Corner Update🚨
In the early morning hours of April 5th, Central Montana Dispatch took a 911 call from a Semi driver traveling on 191 South. The semi driver stated he was being shot at by a vehicle behind him. Fergus County Sheriffs Office, Wheatland County Sheriff’s Office, and Judith Basin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area.
While enroute, it was reported that the semi was now fully engulfed in flames and the occupants of the Semi were running into the field for cover. Moore Fire and Hobson Fire were dispatched to the scene.
A short time later, deputies located a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle that was allegedly firing shots at the Semi. The driver was ordered out at gun point by deputies and detained with no issues. Currently, agencies are investigating the incident.
-There is no ongoing threat to the public-
We want to thank everyone that responded, and a big shout out Central Montana Dispatch for making sure everyone was updated during an event like this!
Traffic will be down to one lane while the road is being cleared. Thank you!
