The Raytown Fire Protection District extends its deepest condolences to the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the family, friends, and loved ones of Corporal Gary Daniels.

Today, we mourn the loss of a dedicated public servant whose commitment to serving others left a lasting impact on his community and fellow first responders. Our hearts are with everyone affected by this tragic loss.

This loss also serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health and su***de awareness within the public safety profession. First responders face unique challenges and carry burdens that are often unseen. It is vital that we continue to foster a culture where seeking help is encouraged, conversations about mental health are welcomed, and no one feels they must face their struggles alone.

To our brothers and sisters in law enforcement, fire service, EMS, dispatch, and all public safety professions: check on one another, have the difficult conversations, and reach out when help is needed. Strength is found not only in serving others, but also in allowing others to support you.

May Corporal Daniels’ memory inspire us to care for one another as fiercely as we care for the communities we serve.

Rest easy, Corporal Daniels. Your service, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten.

With deepest sympathy,

Raytown Fire Protection District 🖤💙🚔🚒

This week, The Fire Board had the honor of recognizing three crews with Clinical Excellence Awards for outstanding patient care and life-saving efforts in our community.

These crews were recognized for exceptional performance on two cardiac arrest calls that resulted in return of pulse, as well as a stroke call where rapid recognition, treatment, and transport helped ensure the patient arrived at the hospital in time for critical intervention.

These outcomes do not happen by accident. They are the result of countless hours of training, preparation, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence when our community needs us most.

Well done, and thank you for serving our community.
