BURN BAN REMINDER — PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY

Richland Parish remains under a Burn Ban, and we cannot stress enough how important it is that everyone follows it.

We have received 72 fire-related calls, and our local fire departments are being stretched thin. Our firefighters are working hard to protect lives and property, and preventable fires are placing an unnecessary strain on already limited resources.

We ARE issuing summonses for violations of the Burn Ban.

You cannot burn in a barrel.
You cannot burn in a fire pit.
Outdoor burning is prohibited unless specifically exempt under the current order.

Conditions are extremely dry, and it does not take much for a small fire to quickly become an out-of-control fire.

Please do your part. Do not burn. Help us protect our firefighters, our resources, and our community.

The Burn Ban remains in effect until further notice.
