SFM deputies arrested Nash on August 27, 2026, on one count of Arson with Intent to Defraud.

The investigation began after the Rayville Fire Department requested assistance from the SFM Fire Investigations Unit following a house fire in the 800 block of Perkins Drive in Rayville.

At approximately 11:15 p.m. on August 26, 2026, the Rayville Fire Department responded to the house fire.

Following an extensive investigation, SFM investigators determined the fire was intentionally set.

This week we have continued hydrant repairs and maintenance to ensure we have proper water supply in the event of an emergency. This is crucial for public safety and property protection as well as helping lower our PIAL rating which helps all residents insurance rates. All hydrants are also receiving a fresh coat of paint.
