📣Louisiana Fire Service📣

Have you heard about the Louisiana Firefighter Cancer Registry?

It's a statewide initiative led by the Louisiana Department of Health, in collaboration with LSU Health School of Public Health - READ Center, and the Louisiana Tumor Registry (LTR), to better understand cancer risk among firefighters.

But we need 🫵YOU🫵 to participate for this effort to help you and future firefighters.

Check out the ℹ️info belowℹ️ and reach out to the 📧email📧 on the flyer to get started!

The second of two extrication classes was a success. Thank you to LSU FETA for teaching the class and all of the departments that participated. This is the first round of hopefully more to come where we train with law enforcement and surrounding departments to better work together and more efficiently in the event of an emergency. Special thanks to Sheriff Neal Harwell and the Richland Parish Sheriffs Office for hosting the second class and providing the meal for both. Also thanks go out to Reggie Malbrough with Bunker Gear Specialists for attending and adding his knowledge on the specialized tools used in the training.

As we approach Memorial Day it’s important to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and the ones who currently serve today. Captain Billy Cardin assisted today in placing flags at the Veterans Cemetery and works hard to do whatever he can to help in all aspects throughout the year. As a veteran himself, he works hard not only at the department but through his work with the American Legion. Thank you for your dedication not only to our department but your dedication to honoring our veterans and helping remember the ones that were lost and never made it home. Our department is committed to helping support this cause however we can.

As always Bobby came through for us. Excellent service as usual! Thank you again.

We are proud to have taken delivery of our newest addition to our department. This truck not only gives us the ability to have functioning apparatus in our second station but is also going to help our PIAL rating to help lower insurance rates for our residents. Appreciation goes out to the Mayor and the Town Council for their support in this purchase as well as all of the other upgrades that’s been made thus far. Special thanks also go out to Colerain Township Fire Department in Ohio for working so well with us to help make this project happen. Once all necessary equipment is outfitted this truck will be placed into service.
