10 Years of RiverFest. 175 Years of Muhlenberg Township. One Big Celebration.

Join us Friday night at Jim Dietrich Park as we kick off RiverFest 2026 and celebrate two incredible milestones: 10 years of RiverFest and 175 years of Muhlenberg Township!

The entire trail will be open from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, featuring live music by Vinyl Rush and Bunchafunk, food, drinks, vendors, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate with family and friends along the Schuylkill River.

Then at 10:00 PM, look to the sky for a spectacular fireworks show provided by America250PA Berks Celebration and a drone show.

Come out Friday night and help us celebrate the history, community, and spirit of Muhlenberg Township. We can't wait to see you at RiverFest!

Please be aware - Seniors in Berks County have been contacting the Berks County Assessment Office about an “age-based exemption,” “senior homestead,” or a “special form” that supposedly freezes or eliminates property taxes.

This information is false. It comes from a viral YouTube video spreading on YouTube and Facebook. The account behind it is anonymous, AI generated, and full of misleading claims targeting seniors.

The form mentioned in the video (1098SR or 1098-SR) does not exist. There is no form that freezes or eliminates your property taxes.

Today, on World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, the Berks County Commissioners, County staff, District Attorney’s Victim/Witness Assistance Unit, and the Children’s Alliance Center joined the global by pouring red sand into sidewalk cracks outside the Berks County Services Center.

The red sand represents the victims of human trafficking who have "fallen through the cracks" of our social, economic, and political systems. This simple yet powerful act reminds us that every person deserves to be seen, valued, and protected.

Together, we can raise awareness, spark conversations, and help prevent exploitation in our communities.
