Please be aware - Moselem Springs Bridge in Richmond Township is closed to vehicular traffic immediately. The bridge, connecting Eagle Road and Moselem Springs Road (Rt. 662), was already in design to be replaced in Spring, 2027. However, a routine inspection today showed accelerated deterioration of steel support beams.

Barricades are being installed today, and the detour route will be posted in the coming days.

The County of Berks is committed to progressing the design phase and initiating bridge replacement as quickly as possible.

This week, the County of Berks proudly recognizes National Correctional Officers and Employees Week and honors the dedicated officers and staff of the Berks County Correctional Facility and Berks County Jail System.

Today, community members, correctional staff, county leaders, and supporters came together to recognize the vital work performed by correctional professionals in Berks County and across the nation, while also remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

FIFA World Cup 2026 is bringing the excitement right here to Reading and the benefits for Berks County are HUGE.

Reading has been selected as one of just three official Pennsylvania World Cup Fan Zone locations alongside Pittsburgh and Scranton.

The Fan Zone will take place at the Santander Arena, transforming downtown Reading into a hub of international energy and celebration.
