The Ordinances of Mount Penn and St. Lawrence Boroughs, and Lower Alsace Township require snow/ice to be removed from all sidewalks within 24 hours after the snow ceases to fall. Oley Township requires removal within 12 hours.

Sidewalks should be cleared to a width of 30 inches, or the width of the sidewalk. It is a violation of these ordinances to deposit snow/ice in a public street or upon another’s property without their permission.

Let’s all work together to keep our community safe!

In April of 2019, a large-scale fraud investigation was conducted at a residence in St. Lawrence. A search warrant was issued for the residence, and thousands of new-in-box toys and electronics were seized. The investigation was turned over to the FBI for federal prosecution. As part of an agreement with our department, the Berks County District Attorney's office, the defendant, and his attorney, it was agreed upon that the toys and electronics would be donated to local charity organizations in lieu of additional criminal charges being filed on the defendant by Central Berks at the state level.

The Central Berks Regional Police Department has chosen to donate the items to the United States Marine Corps "Toys For Tots" and East Cocalico Township Police Department's "Kole's Toy Drive."

At 11:00am, we will go Live on Facebook at Central Berks Regional Police Department to bring you the press conference at which we will be donating the toys and electronics.

Francesco Amato, owner of Frank’s Pizza, was presented with the Citizenship Award at the November Police Commission meeting. We gave him a little plaque, but Amato’s wife, Andrea, provided the “Major Award!”
