Congratulations to Annabel Sand, a member of the Reading Varsity Cheerleading team, on being named Reading's Athlete of the Week for the week of October 19, 2026!
Varsity Cheer Head Coach Sam Davis nominated Annabel for demonstrating the qualities of an Accountable Contributor through her exceptional efforts during Homecoming Week.
From serving on multiple committees to helping coordinate the Homecoming Court and halftime crowning ceremony, Annabel played an important role in making the week's festivities a success.
Coach Davis shared, "Annabel went above and beyond during Homecoming Week, serving on multiple committees and stepping in wherever help was needed. She took the lead in coordinating the Homecoming Court, contacting last year's royalty, and preparing for the halftime crowning ceremony. Annabel consistently arrived early, stayed late, supported her teammates, and took on additional responsibilities without being asked. Her leadership, initiative, and willingness to do whatever was needed made a tremendous difference during such a busy week. I am incredibly grateful for everything Annabel contributed and highly recommend her for this recognition!"
