Blue Devil Retirement Spotlight: Rebecca Reynolds

Rebecca Reynolds may have thought she was already retired, but Reading Schools was fortunate enough to get a few more incredible years with her after Becky Johnson encouraged her to return as a long-term substitute for Megan Overbeck. Following that experience, Mrs. Reynolds found her home in 8th grade, where she has served as an Intervention Specialist and made a lasting impact on students and staff alike.

One of Mrs. Reynolds’ favorite memories has been working in the science resource room this year and celebrating student achievements alongside her students. The one-on-one connections she built with students reminded her why she first entered the field of special education. She also fondly remembers experiences outside the classroom, including trips to FC Cincinnati matches, Cincinnati Cyclones games, and the Miami Watershed.

As retirement begins, Mrs. Reynolds is looking forward to enjoying some classic retiree activities like reading, traveling, and finding new ways to stay active and busy.

Mrs. Reynolds also shared a heartfelt shoutout to the entire SPED team, describing them as some of the most amazing individuals she has ever worked with. She praised their passion, commitment, and dedication to ensuring every student feels included, successful, and truly seen. She noted that their willingness to go above and beyond for students is unmatched and that Reading students are incredibly fortunate to have such a phenomenal group supporting them every day.

Thank you, Mrs. Reynolds, for your compassion, dedication, and advocacy for students throughout your career. We wish you a retirement filled with joy, adventure, and meaningful new experiences!
