On December 12, third-grade students at Cornwall Terrace got a head start on their entrepreneurial journeys with a "Career Fair"!

Eleven local entrepreneurs (Detweiler Design, Author Jill Lynch, Betsy Fick Photography, Kristina Kreates, Acacia Flower Shop, Berks Deals & Steals, Pinky’s Junk Removal, InstaShine Car Wash, John’s Great Cars, Threads Embroidery, and Powdered Pink Flamingo) shared their expertise, offering insights into running a successful business. They answered questions like:
- How do you advertise your business?
- What challenges have you faced as an entrepreneur?
- What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own business?

A huge thank you to our guest entrepreneurs for donating their time and knowledge! The students are now ready to start their own "businesses"!

Learning about other cultures! ✨

Fourth grade at Green Valley invited a parent in to their classrooms to talk about Diwali and growing up as a Indian-American, connecting to their current ELA unit where they are reading a book featuring an Indian family. Making real-world connections helps students take their learning beyond the four walls of their classrooms!

2nd graders at Cornwall Terrace were surgeons at the Place Value Hospital last month and were given tasks at different stations to work on at the hospital. All of the tasks were related to place value skills that they’ve been working on in math. The students loved it and were so engaged!
