Reading City Council Reading City Council is the legislative body for the City of Reading.

City Council sets policy to provide for the exercise of all duties and obligations imposed upon the City's Home Rule Charter and applicable State and Federal laws and to protect and secure the general health, safety and welfare of the City and its citizens. With the Memorial Day holiday on Monday May 25th, 2026.

---There will be no yard waste pick-up on Monday the 25th.Yard waste pickup will be moved to Thursday May 28th, 2026.
---There will be no street sweeping scheduled for Monday the 25th with no further schedule adjustment.
---Trash and Recycling Collection will move to Tuesday the 26th with Tuesday’s collection moved to Wednesday, etc with Friday’s collection moving to Saturday.
