The City of Reading, Pennsylvania is accepting applications for the position of Paramedic (This is a non-firefighter position). Application process through July 16, 2021.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, must hold a valid driver’s license. At the time of hire must be a Paramedic or PHRN Pre Hospital Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Please visit www.readingpa.gov for full details of the application process.

The application period has opened and we are accepting applications for Firefighters and Firefighter/Paramedics. Applications can be found at https://www.readingpa.gov. Applicatants need to be 18 years old, have a drivers license and be able to pass a backround check. We do not have residency requirements or an maximum age restriction. Due to COVID restrictions all applications need to be downloaded and mailed in. Applications need to be received by the end of May.

The application period has been extended until June 28, 2019. The age restriction has also changed. Now anyone 18 years and older may apply. The application process is for Paramedic/ Firefighter only. You need to be a Paramedic by December to apply. The written test will be July 13, 2019.

The application period is now open for Paramedic/firefighters. Applications can be picked up at City Hall 815 Washington Street Reading PA or downloaded from https://www.readingpa.gov. Applicants need to be between the ages of 18-35 years old, have a drivers license and pass a background check . This hiring is only for Paramedic/Firefighters this year. Paramedics will need to have state certification by December 2019 to be eligible. All applications need to be in by May 31, 2019. Additional information can be found on the city web site.

Applicants need to be between the ages of 18-35, a drivers license, and pass a background check. All applicants will need to take the written Civil Service and pass the CPAT test to get hired.

The application period for the Reading Fire Department has officially opened. The application period will be from May 15 till June 30, 2017. Applications can be picked up at City Hall 815 Washington Street Reading PA or downloaded from the city web site.

Applications are being accepted for paramedic/firefighters and firefighters. Paramedics will need to be certified by the time of hire. Applicants need to be between the ages of 18-35, pass a civil service test, have a valid drive's license, pass a background check and the candidiate physical agility test (CPAT). All hired personnel will complete a training academy that will provide all the certifications needed fro the position with the exception of paramedic.
