This time of year always makes me a little sad… As Martha selection starts to dwindle, I realize that the greenhouse will not be open much longer. And while the quantity has gone down, the quality of the flowers is still unbelievable! This is the box that I just picked up this morning to help round out some of my planters. And today and tomorrow… All purchases are 10% off!

I wanted to remind you that through this week, all vegetable plants are 10% off!

I also wanted to give you a breakdown of the next few days at Whispering Winds… The greenhouse will be closed on Monday, June 1, but will reopen on Tuesday the second. This has been an extremely successful season for the greenhouse, and Martha anticipates closing down for 2020 at the end of next week. I will be meeting with her on Tuesday to get all of the details for you. 

In the meantime, don’t forget to stock up on tomatoes, peppers, and melons. The temperatures are perfect to get them in the ground!

Please note that Whispering Winds will be closer tomorrow - Thursday, may 21st.  They will reopen for normal business on friday, May 22nd.

There are so many plants/flowers to work with when building planters that it is easy to overlook some of the easiest and hardy among them! One of my favorite plants to mix in is Portulaca. It is hardy, loves direct sun and can tolerate drought conditions! With a variety of colors available, Portulaca looks amazing in a planter by itself, or mixed in with other flowers!

This week, Martha is encouraging us to recycle the pots/planters/vessels that we already own! If you are like me, you may have several hundred planters sitting in the garage! Instead of buying yet another, take what you already own to Whispering Winds where they will custom build your planter!

The cost of plants/materials is as follows:
-Each 4" pot is $2.50
-Each pack plant is $0.25
-Each gallon of potting soil is $1.00

If you do not have any spare planters, do not worry....there are plenty of empty ones on had at the cost of $3.00 each.

And if you'd prefer to not have to think about it, there are ton of already made planters available for immediate pick up!
