Combat Logistics Battalion 25 bids a bitter-sweet farewell to Commander Romano, CLB-25 Medical Officer, as he officially retires after 31 distinguished years of honorable service in the U.S. Navy Reserves.
CDR Romano has embodied true devotion to duty, selflessness, and leadership. His decades of experience, steady presence, and genuine care for the Marines of CLB-25 have left an indelible mark on the unit and everyone who had the privilege to serve alongside him.
During his retirement ceremony, CDR Romano was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in recognition of his exceptional performance and lifelong dedication to the Navy-Marine Corps team.

We wish him and his family fair winds and following seas as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

No Loss in Tempo

Marines of General Service Company (GSC), Combat Logistics 25 conducted a tightly coupled drill weekend aboard their home station, 1-2 August.

The Marines hit the ground running only two weeks after their rigorous annual training exercise aboard Mountain Warfare Training Center, California. With robust unity of effort, they exploited all opportunities to enhance the company’s administrative, medical, maintenance, supply, and training priorities to be aggressively postured for live fire field events following in September.

GSC has entered a visceral new chapter of Force Design during August, reorganized to a lean core of resilient Marines and equipment. They fight forward to master their new company mission set and embrace new Marines and capabilities into their ranks.

Ready Every Drill, Ready Every Mission

Recognizing the dedication and professionalism of our Selected Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR) Marines for their commitment to accomplish mission-essential training during limited drill periods while balancing civilian careers, education, and family responsibilities. Every drill weekend is carefully planned to maximize readiness, ensuring Marines remain prepared to answer the nation’s call whenever needed.

During August drill, Marines completed the Combat Fitness Test (CFT), a Marine Corps requirement that measures the physical demands of combat through events designed to assess endurance, agility, strength, and combat readiness. Maintaining these standards ensures every Marine is physically prepared to perform in challenging and demanding environments. The battalion also recognized multiple promotions, reflecting the professional growth, leadership, and increased responsibility earned through sustained performance, commitment, and dedication to the Corps. Congratulations to the newly promoted Sergeants - Gulzar, Defeo, and BarrientosDuque. And Lance Corporal NicasioRodriguez.

Combat Logistics Battalion 25 Marines conducted field exercise (FEX) operations during Mountain Training Exercise (MTX) 3-26, strengthening expeditionary logistics capabilities in a challenging high-altitude environment.

Throughout the exercise, Marines executed tactical movements, conducted patrol operations, established field positions, and rehearsed combat logistics operations in support of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF). The demanding training emphasized discipline, small-unit leadership, communication, and the ability to operate effectively in rugged terrain while maintaining mission readiness.

Operating across mountainous landscapes and austere conditions, CLB-25 sharpened the skills, endurance, and tactical proficiency required to sustain forces wherever the mission leads. By training in realistic environments, Marines reinforce their ability to rapidly adapt, overcome challenges, and provide responsive, resilient logistics support in support of future operations.

Combat Logistics Battalion 25 recently held a Change of Command ceremony, marking a new chapter of leadership for the battalion.
During the ceremony, LtCol Scott Smiley officially relinquished command to LtCol Michael Pernice, passing the organizational colors to symbolize the transfer of total authority, responsibility, and accountability for the unit.
We extend our sincere gratitude to LtCol Smiley for his dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to the Marines and Sailors of CLB-25. Fair winds and following seas in your next assignment!

Embracing change. Forging ahead.

The Marines of Detachment 1 just wrapped up a highly successful annual training. For 2026, and this IDT weekend is all about the ultimate reset. From minds and body to gear and equipment, these Marines are putting in the rigorous work, required to stay combat ready.💪

🔧 Turning wrenches on trucks, operating heavy equipment, and deep cleaning rifles. And every vehicle and piece of gear is being meticulously inspected and repaired to ensure we are fully prepped for a robust fiscal year 2026 training cycle.

🏃‍♂️ Pushing the limits with unit PT to prep for the upcoming combat fitness test (CFT), while prioritizing mental readiness with critical training on resources provided by the Psychological Health Outreach Program (PHOP).

All this hard work is paving the way for a major organizational milestone: our upcoming redesignation from Detachment 1, Transportation Services Company, CLB 25 to Detachment Ground Delivery Company, 6th DSB, GDC 🦅🌎⚓️

The name may be changing, but the standard remains the same. These Marines are training, hard, resetting, right, and standing ready to support our country whenever and wherever the call is made. Semper

Mobility. Confidence. Readiness.

Marines and Sailors with Combat Logistics Battalion 25 conducted mobility training during Mountain Training Exercise (MTX) 3-26, sharpening expeditionary skills in challenging mountainous terrain.

Training included movement under load, rope bridge crossings, and day and night rappelling operations designed to build confidence, reinforce technical proficiency, and prepare Marines and Sailors to overcome complex terrain while supporting the Marine Air-Ground Task Force.

Realistic training in demanding environments ensures CLB-25 remains ready to provide combat logistics support whenever and wherever the mission requires.

Building Readiness, Enabling the Mission

📍Mountain Training Exercise MTX 3-26 | Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, CA

Recognizing the Marines whose professionalism, adaptability, and teamwork strengthen mission readiness, this post highlights Combat Logistics Battalion 25’s role during the Pre-Exercise Training (PET) and Reception, Staging, Onward Movement, and Integration (RSO&I) phases of Mountain Training Exercise (MTX) 3-26. These critical operations prepare the foundation for combat forces to successfully train and execute their mission.

Serving as the Logistics Combat Element (LCE) in direct support of 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines and Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines, CLB-25 established the Unit Marshalling Area (UMA), Battalion Aid Station (BAS), camp, and Combat Operations Center (COC), achieving full operational capability upon the arrival of the main body. Before conducting vehicle operations, Marines completed a mountain driver’s course to safely operate in Bridgeport’s challenging terrain. Throughout this phase, CLB-25 provided food service, health services, ground transportation, maintenance and recovery, communications, and field laundry support for more than 800 Marines and Sailors, enabling the force to transition seamlessly into training.

Operations like these demonstrate that combat logistics is more than sustainment—it is the foundation of combat readiness. Every meal served, vehicle recovered, radio established, and Marine supported reflects the teamwork, planning, and professionalism of CLB-25 Marines, ensuring the supported force was prepared to transition into the next phase of Mountain Training Exercise.

Honoring tradition and advancing leadership. 🇺🇸

1stLt Jacob Kendall was promoted to the rank of Captain during a ceremony held at the historic Tun Tavern Historical Marker in Philadelphia, PA—the traditional birthplace of our Corps.

Following the promotion, the Marines of Site Support Red Bank conducted a Professional Military Education (PME) trip, touring Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell to reflect on the foundational history of the nation we swear to protect during our nation’s 250th birthday.
