Red Bank Community Engagement & Equity Committee

Red Bank Community Engagement & Equity Committee The CEEC advises the Mayor & Council on ways to support all of our residents. Equity refers to fairness and justice and is distinguished from equality.

We are committed to an equitable community where everyone is treated with fairness and justice so they are empowered to participate fully in social, cultural and economic life. The mission of the Red Bank Community Engagement and Equity Advisory Committee (CEEC) is to create and implement practices that frame our community to be inclusive, safe and rewarding for our residents, local businesses, vi

sitors and the surrounding communities. The CEEC is committed to an equitable community where everyone is treated with fairness and justice so they are empowered to participate fully in social, cultural and economic life. The Red Bank Community and Equity Committee has adopted the following statements to enhance our mission based on the definitions of diversity and equity:

Diversity is a tremendous strength and asset for our community. The CEEC recognizes and celebrates that every individual who lives and works in Red Bank is unique and valuable to the community. The CEEC will continue to support and provide assistance to those who face discrimination in matters including but not limited to race, age, religion, gender, cultural ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical and intellectual disabilities, gender identity, political beliefs, national origin, and socioeconomic status. Whereas equality means providing the same to all, equity is recognizing that individuals may not all start from the same place and makes adjustments to the imbalances to achieve equality with others in the community.
