On May 20, 2026, the Honorable Judge Bottke, and members of the Tehama County Probation Department, along with the Tehama County District Attorney’s Office, Tehama County Defense Counsel, Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, and Tehama County Health Services Agency participated in the Treatment Courts graduation celebration. Treatment Court is a highly intensive program that is designed to ensure participants receive comprehensive and solution focused drug dependence treatment. Eight participants were recognized for completing all phases and requirements of their respective treatment court program.

The Probation Department would like to commend each graduate for the effort it took to reach this moment and encourage them to continue building on the foundation they have created. Congratulations again to all of the graduates on this well-earned accomplishment, and best wishes for the future.

On May 20th and 21st, we had the opportunity to assist CAL FIRE and the Red Bluff Fire Department with clearing transient encampments in the Spider Island and East Sand Slough areas in preparation for a controlled burn.

Crews removed approximately 10 tons of trash and debris from the area and the controlled burn was successfully conducted on May 21.

While conducting a home compliance check at the residence of an offender on felony probation, Tehama County Probation Officers located a R***r 10-22 rifle, 2 extended .22 magazines, 2 10 round .22 magazines, approximately 480 rounds of .22 ammunition, and 6 rounds of 30-30 ammunition. The offender is prohibited from possessing fi****ms and ammunition. A new felony case and probation violation were filed.

The staff and youth are making good progress in the facility’s onsite garden. The garden program is doing well and we’re thankful for the collaboration with Tehama County Department of Education and Shasta College.

The Tehama County Probation Department is hosting our second offering of the Parent Project starting Thursday June 25, 2026. Classes begin at 5:30pm and will be held at the Juvenile Justice Center. On 5/1/26, our DRC work crew had the opportunity to assist with cleaning the Tehama County Sheriff's Office helicopter. We appreciate the opportunity to support our local law enforcement partners while giving participants the chance to build teamwork, responsibility, and pride in their work.

Tehama County held its 32nd annual Peace Officers Memorial Ceremony Wednesday night, honoring 12 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty in California in 2025
