Happy Autumn 2016! I was reflecting this morning on my grant business accomplishments over the past 11 years and I realized that this year Hagerty Grant Writing Services has surpassed the $2 million mark in terms of successful grant awards for the Town of Amenia. We were able to quickly respond to a request by the Town Supervisor to put together a ready-to-go proposal seeking funding to finalize construction plans for the Wassaic Trail to the Train project. The $250,000 Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) grant is expected to assist the Town finance the $970,000 project.
Other top clients for our business over the past 11 years include: The Town of Pleasant Valley, where before 2016, we had obtained $423,500 in previously successful Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) awards for park development, handicapped-accessibility projects, and sidewalks. We conducted income surveys to qualify projects. This year in Pleasant Valley we have been working very closely with the new Town Supervisor to aggressively pursue the most promising grant opportunities. So far we have made approximately 8 applications to state and county funding sources. Already at least $150,000 in new grant awards have been procured since May. We have also begun working on grants for the Pleasant Valley Fire Department.
Other top grant award recipients over the past decade include: the Town of Washington with $165,000 in successful grants, the Town of East Fishkill with $112,500, Dutchess County Community Action Agency, $37,000, Winnakee Land Trust, $37,000, Harlem Valley Partnership, $35,000, and Village of Millbrook, $10,000. (We obtained many more grants for Millbrook back in the 1990s as well.)
I am looking forward to completing existing grant projects while continuing to spread the word about available funding opportunities. I hope to hear from you soon!
