Montgomery Place at Bard College The 380-acre property is an amazingly intact example of Hudson Valley estate life.

Each of the estate's features has a story to tell about changing American attitudes toward nature, landscape, and home design over time. Bard College purchased the Montgomery Place estate, which is adjacent to the Bard campus, from the Historic Hudson Valley in January 2016, and is now in the process of creating a master plan to guide the integration of the two campuses and utilize the new facilit

ies in a manner consistent with the College’s commitment to historic preservation, public access, and the environment. The Montgomery Place Campus grounds include gardens, an arboretum, and three miles of hiking trails with views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains.

Growing Together Garden Tour
Here is another chance to explore local gardens for free. Montgomery Place and Blithwood Garden are part of the Growing Together Garden Tour happening this Sat., July 25, 9-3. Please stop by the historic gardens and Burpee trial garden at Montgomery Place, near the greenhouse. There are other beautiful local gardens hosting open houses as part of this event. We hope you can join in the Good Dirt Farm and Garden Ramble, happening this Sunday, July 19. Montgomery Place is on the list of several farms and gardens you can visit in the area between 2-5pm. Enjoy the beauty and bounty, and speak with the gardeners and farmers who tend the earth and cultivate the growth. Enjoy a cool garden beverage. The Burpee Trail Garden at Montgomery Place Greenhouse will be featured.
