Co.9 recently received emergency drinking water through Anheuser-Busch’s Emergency Drinking Water for Wildland Firefighters program. This donation will go a long way in helping our firefighters stay safe and hydrated during calls, high heat, and training operations. We’re grateful to Anheuser-Busch and National Volunteer Fire Council for supporting volunteer departments across the country, and to Virginia Eagle Distribution for delivering the water to our station!

A funeral service for Dennis Haley will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Phenix Presbyterian Church, Phenix Virginia. The family will receive friends at the home of Barbara Haley at all times. Interment will follow at Rough Creek Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Phenix Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 254 Phenix VA 23959

Co.9 volunteers established LZ setup this morning for a medical transport with Charlotte County Rescue Squad Inc. and Centra One.

Co.9 dispatched second due with Co.8 for a brush fire on Barrett Rd. While en-route, units were advised that it was a structure fire that has spread into the woods. With that information, Co.11 was added to the call. Brush 9 arrived to find a 20x30 shop already on the ground with approximately 1/2 acre of woods on fire. Units from all three departments contained and extinguished the fire without incident.

At approximately 11:00hrs this morning, Company 9 was dispatched for a MVC into a structure, with entrapment. One patient had self extricated prior to arrival with the other patient needing extrication by fire department members. Engine 9 arrived with 5 members and began stabilization of the structure and vehicle. Patient was removed from the vehicle approximately 10 minutes after arrival.
