On Monday, April 20, Lineworkers Appreciation Day, honoring the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to keep the power on.

On Wednesday, April 22, we celebrated Administrative Professionals Day, recognizing those who keep everything organized and running smoothly behind the scenes.

Congratulations to our 2026 Youth Tour winner!

Red Lake Electric Cooperative is proud to announce Riley Poppitz, a junior at Lincoln High School, as our 2026 Electric Cooperative Youth Tour delegate.

Riley earned this opportunity through an essay competition and will represent our cooperative on an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., June 15–20. During the trip, she will join students from across the country to visit historic landmarks, meet with lawmakers, and learn how decisions made in our nation’s capital impact rural electric cooperatives and the communities they serve.
We’re excited to see her represent Red Lake Electric and our members in Washington, D.C.!

Load Management Update 1/24/26 1:30pm

MISO, the regional organization that oversees the electric grid across much of the Midwest, has reduced today’s Max Generation Alert to a warning for the remainder of Saturday, Jan. 24. Minnkota has been able to restore loads like water heaters, storage heat, dual-fuel loads and will be continuing to restore off-peak loads this afternoon. However, conditions are expected to tighten again later this evening and into tomorrow morning. Because of that, there is a strong possibility the grid could return to a Max Generation Event.

We will continue sharing updates on our social media as conditions change. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work through this period of extreme weather together. Please stay warm and stay safe.
