🚨 Important Notice – Help Keep Our Park Restrooms Open 🚨

We ask all visitors to please respect our community and one another by taking care of the restroom facilities at Fairmount Park and Nitchkey Park.

Unfortunately, we have seen repeated vandalism and misuse, including damaged stalls, intentionally clogged toilets, and unsanitary conditions. This behavior creates an unhealthy environment, increases repair costs, and impacts everyone who uses these parks.

If this damage continues, the Borough may have no choice but to close these restroom facilities.

We want to keep these amenities available for everyone to enjoy—especially families and children who use our parks daily. Please do your part:

✅ Use the facilities properly
✅ Report damage when you see it
✅ Respect shared public spaces

Let’s work together to keep our parks safe, clean, and open for all. Thank you for your cooperation!

🚨 Red Lion Borough Curfew Reminder 🚨

The York County Curfew Task Force, a subcommittee of the York County Truancy Task Force, has recommended consistent curfew rules across municipalities to help protect our youth and community. Red Lion Borough has adopted these recommendations to promote safety, accountability, and well-being.

Why this matters:
These rules are in place to help reduce juvenile crime, prevent nighttime risks to minors, encourage family responsibility, and support the overall health and safety of our community.

🕛 Curfew Hours
• 12:00 midnight to 6:00 a.m.
• During these hours, minors may not be in public places unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

👨‍👩‍👧 Responsibilities
• Parents/guardians must ensure minors follow curfew rules.
• Business owners may not allow unaccompanied minors on their premises during curfew hours.

✅ Exceptions
Minors may be out during curfew hours if they are:
• With an approved adult chaperone at an official activity (school, church, sports, nonprofit, etc.)
• Working or serving as a junior firefighter or EMS personnel
• Driving with a valid senior driver’s license for lawful purposes
• Carrying a same-day written note from a parent/guardian that includes:
o Time frame
o Location
o Purpose

Did you know that our Recreation Director is a member of YARD (York Area Recreation Directors)? YARD is a collaborative group of local recreation professionals who work together to provide quality programs and opportunities for families throughout York County.

On Friday, YARD partnered with the Fish & Boat Commission for the annual "Take Me Fishing" event at Pinchot Park. This wonderful FREE event gives children and families the opportunity to get outdoors, learn the basics of fishing, and enjoy a day in nature together.

YARD assists with event registration and provides lunch for participants, including hot dogs, chips, and drinks. We were thrilled to see approximately 200 participants attend this year's event!

The weather was beautiful, the fishing was fun, and it was great to see so many families spending quality time outdoors while learning a new skill. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day such a success!
