Temporary No Parking

🚧 Temporary No Parking Notice – Borough-Wide 🚧

As we continue street sweeping and begin the installation of Hometown Hero banners in honor of Memorial Day, temporary No Parking signs will be posted throughout the Borough over the next two weeks or more.

Please be aware:

When a sign is posted indicating “No Parking” with a specified time frame, that restriction is enforceable during those hours.
This is consistent with permanent No Parking signage used nationwide. For example, if a sign states No Parking from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., vehicles may not be parked during that time period—even if a specific date is not listed.

🚗 Failure to move your vehicle may result in a ticket and/or towing. This is not what we want to do, it is what we have to do, to accomplish what needs to be done when people fail to follow the posted notices.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to keep our streets clean and honor our community’s heroes. Please check posted signs carefully and plan accordingly.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Beginning tomorrow (Thursday, 4/16/26) ...

If you see this low-flying helicopter in York County, be advised it is spraying for black flies, according to the PA Department of Environmental Protection.

"This operation will begin in Adams County at 0700hrs, working upriver to finish in Huntingdon County," according to the DEP. "This aerial application will include flights in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin, Perry, Lebanon, and York Counties. The helicopter will be a Bell OH58 A+ with the tail number N655HA and is white with red, blue and grey striping."

The helicopter "will be dispersing Vectobac 12AS, which is a Bti product manufactured by Valent Biosciences. Bti is short for Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis, which is a bacterial larvicide, not a chemical, and is the only product used in Pennsylvania's waterways for black fly suppression."

"Vectobac 12AS is a thick liquid that is brown in color when dispensed from the helicopter. The helicopter will fly low near tree top level and release the Vectobac at various predetermined positions on each stream."
