Red Lion Area Educational Foundation The Foundation has no legal or financial responsibility to the Red Lion Area School District.

The Red Lion Area Educational Foundation is an independent non-profit organization, governed by a Board of Directors with support from a strong committee structure. Finance Committee – Chaired by a member of the Foundation Board, the Finance Committee is comprised of investment experts who oversee and provide recommendations to the Foundation Board regarding investments and account activities. olarship Committee – Chaired by a member of the Foundation Board, the Scholarship Committee is responsible to organize, promote, and coordinate each of the scholarships and work with each sub-account designee and the Red Lion Area Senior High School Guidance Office. Technology Grants Committee – Chaired by the Red Lion Area School District technology leader, this committee reviews and selects appropriate technology grants to enhance the educational experience within Red Lion Area Schools.

Courtlyn Gould received the Dr Woodrow Strayer & Ella Mae Fleming Dellinger Scholarship. Dr. and Mrs. Dellinger were long time natives of the Red Lion area. Mrs. Dellinger, a nurse herself, was very active not only in the community but in their family medical practice. Dr. Dellinger was a favorite physician in the area and loved by many. The Dellingers were proud of their community and wanted to give back to the young people. The Foundation is honored to present this award on behalf of the York County Community Foundation.

Riley Watson received the Bernice Reichard in honor of Lucille Poet Scholarship. This scholarship was established by the estate of Bernice Reichard to memorialize the life of Lucille Poet, RN. Lucille was a nurse, a mother, a friend and a wife. She excelled in all her roles and was loved by many. This scholarship is awarded to 4 Red Lion students entering the medical field.

Delana Stem received the David Warner Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was established to honor David R Warner Sr. David was a 1980 graduate of Red Lion High School and was active in the 4H and FFA. He was born and raised on his family farm in Chanceford Township. David dedicated his life and career to farming, agriculture and helping others succeed.

Nenea Schimek received the Dr Eugene Segro Memorial Scholarship. Dr Segro was a beloved principal at the Red Lion Junior High School. He was an advocate of education to all students and an admired colleague. Gene lost his life during what many thought to be a "normal school day." Red Lion was forever changed that day. This scholarship celebrates the life and legacy of Dr Segro . This scholarship is given to a student who has achieved academic excellence and is a student leader.

Parker Keiser received the Raymond Smith Educational Foundation Fund in Honor of Mark, Scott and Sandra Koons. This scholarship was established in memory of Raymond Smith. Raymond was a 1935 graduate of RLASD. He graduated from LVC , served in WWII, graduated from Dickinson Law School and earned a Doctorate Degree. Over the years he was involved in many organizations , taught Sunday School and created the Senior Volunteer Tutoring Program. We lost Raymond in 2005 but his legacy lives on in Red Lion.

Parker Keiser received the Jacob Linn Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was created in memory of Jake who passed away on January 10, 2015. Jake loved the game of golf, Michigan University football, hanging with friends and family and supporting everyone in their own passion. Jake's mantra was "No Regrets" and the Linn's have embraced this mantra since his death and use it to become their best self and help others. We are happy to award this scholarship in memory of Jake.

Madeline Babuscki received the Rick and Carol Stine Scholarship. Rick Stine is a 1969 graduate of Red Lion High School who opened Rick’s Ace Hardware Store in 1992. Through hard work and the loyalty of the community it has developed into a successful business. Carol Stine is a retired teacher who taught Biology at Hempfield High School in Lancaster County. This scholarship goes to a hard working student who plans to major in the sciences.

The beneficiary of this scholarship exemplifies good sportsmanship to include attitude towards team members, coaches, officials and spectators.
