This Sunday from 1:00-4:00PM, The Sustainability Board is hosting a Hike & Bike Solar Tour. Self-guided, participants can walk or ride to 6 different locations in town that have converted to solar (except us, as City Hall is in the process of installing solar panels). Each site will have a host to talk about their installations, savings, and other experiences. Some refreshments will be available at City Hall.

Stops include:
*Red Lodge Carnegie Library
*Red Lodge High School (Green Team)
*City Hall
*2 private residences
*Sunrise Inn

Although we suggest beginning at the library, participants can begin at any of the locations.

For a map and brochure, you can pick up at any of the locations or save paper and screenshot or download them at: https://www.cityofredlodge.net/bc-sb/page/hike-bike-solar-tour

Thanks to our volunteers at the final mini Clean-Up of the summer at Coal Miners! And thank you to Carbon County Weeds District for a talk on noxious weeds. Both humans and dogs learned a little more about the importance of controlling the spread of pest plants.

Our Parks Board and partners are looking forward to competing in the City Nature Challenge again next spring and hoping to keep the trophy in Carbon County. Thanks to the The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation for sponsoring the "Northern Rocky Mountains" competition trophy made by Back Alley Metals & Red Lodge Powder Coating

And…here’s “The Champ” holding the new Northern Rocky Mountain Challenge (NRMC) Trophy. Courtney Long guided Red Lodge, MT to victory over Bonner County and Boise in the 2021 competition to see who could get the most people per capita to make at least one observation during the City Nature Challenge. As a hard working, innovative city administrator (she’s also helped establish Red Lodge as a Xerces Bee City), and as the person who got the trophy commissioned, she probably deserved to win for her city. This photo shows her fun side. And, in fact, she was a lot of fun to work with, along with Kristin Gnojewski in Boise. Enjoy it while you can, Courtney! 😉

With an inaugural competition under our belts, we’re looking to start engaging people earlier this time. So, with next year’s date now set, make sure you put the 2022 City Nature Challenge on your calendars: 29 April - 2 May, with the results announced 9 May.

We are already working to get other cities to join the competition with us, to reach out to teachers, and to find partnering organizations to help create programming and spread the word. If you’d like more information, or would to be a partnering organization (including participating in monthly Zoom meetings), please send an email to: [email protected].

Can you post the information and the goto link about the resort tax meeting tomorrow night. Can you also post the information about the vacancy for Ward 1 as well as the City Attorney.
Is there a reason that the website is down? Maybe information about the upcoming council meeting and contact info for the current council members could be posted here. Thanks!
I haven't seen a post with the connection info for the Mayor's Q&A today. Or is it going to be pre-recorded on YouTube again? Bill Larson?
I would like to get in touch with Don and Diane(Kaine) Meyer's family, Dean Meyer, Donna Meyer (Hickel). If anyone knows them, could you be so kind as to pass this request along? Thank you in ad advance.
Small family ISO 1-2 bedroom house/condo in Red Lodge. We are building a home locally, but it won't be ready for several months.
I realize its almost June but it snows a lot in Red Lodge. Can you tell me please what is the schedule for plowing? I was told that plowing starts at 4am. Today I did not see a plow until after 5am and they only plowed down Broadway. It was ridiculous trying to make deliveries in town on side streets. I get very tired of using y vehicle as a snow plow up there. Whats the story here?.
I want to thank the city snow plow crew. They are really doing a great job with all this snow to work with. I do have a concern on 17th Street next to the Yodeler.
Welcome a board
