School starts back tomorrow! That means kids will once again be walking to school through neighborhoods, waiting at bus stops, and being dropped off at schools by parents and buses.
Drivers, remember to SLOW DOWN in school zones, YIELD for pedestrians and crossing guards, and STOP for school buses loading and unloading students.
Let’s have a great year, Red Oak!
ROTX ALERT - A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Ellis County, effective 10 am Tuesday, July 19, until midnight Wednesday, July 20. This means high winds, low humidity, and hot temperatures can put areas at risk of high fire activity. A Burn Ban is already in effect, so there should be no outdoor burning - but this takes it a step further. Avoid any outside burning or welding, and do not toss any lit cigarette butts outside. These activities could quickly start a wildfire.
Report wildfires to the nearest department or law enforcement office.
