Red Oak Independent School District provides the ROISD page for the district and community. The purpose of this page is to share information about the district, celebrate the achievements of our students and staff, and provide updates about issues and events that impact our campuses. ROISD aims to remain transparent on social media, but co

mments and posts that violate the rules will be evaluated for removal. The ROISD page administrators monitor all postings of comments and discussion items to ensure the privacy and rights of Red Oak ISD students and staff are protected and respected. ROISD page administrators reserve the right to remove all postings that violate the privacy of students and staff or conflict with the district’s guidelines regarding Internet access and practices. Positive and neutral comments and opinions are welcomed. However, a posting may be removed if it:
• Breaks the law or encourages others to do so. This includes respecting copyright and fair use laws.
• Contains abusive or inappropriate language or statements including racist, homophobic, sexist, obscene, and sexually explicit remarks.
• Easily identifies students and/or staff in defamatory, abusive, or generally negative terms.
• Does not show proper consideration for others’ privacy or respect.
• Is considered to likely offend or provoke others into arguments or hate speech.
• Advertises or promotes a product or service for personal gain. As a public entity, we cannot allow posts that advocate for or against an election proposition or candidate. Violators will be contacted as a warning and repeat offenders may be blocked from the page. All discussion posts may be deleted after a 30-day period in order to maintain the most current information of the ROISD page. Red Oak ISD is not responsible for user-generated content and the opinions expressed in that content do not necessarily reflect those of ROISD. To report an inappropriate comment you have seen on our page, please e-mail the ROISD Communications Department at [email protected]. Although the ROISD page administrators aim to provide feedback to Facebook comments, they may not be able to reply to every comment. They’re there when our community needs them most, answering the call and putting service above self. ❤️🚒 During Firefighter Appreciation Month, we’re recognizing and celebrating the brave men and women who work tirelessly to protect our communities.

A special shoutout to the Red Oak Fire Department, Glenn Heights Fire Department, and Ovilla Fire Department. Thank you for being such an important part of our community and for all you do for Hawk Nation!

This month, we’re shining a light on hydrocephalus—a condition that affects the brain’s ability to drain cerebrospinal fluid, leading to potentially serious complications. Did you know it can impact people of all ages, from infants to adults?

Here’s how you can help:
- Educate Yourself & Others: Understanding hydrocephalus is the first step in raising awareness. Share facts and stories to spread the word.
- Support Organizations: Many groups are working hard to improve treatments and support those affected. Consider donating or getting involved.

Sometimes, the greatest victories are not measured by how quickly we cross the finish line, but by how we choose to help others along the way.

Ifeoma Onyekwe, a 10th grader at Red Oak High School, demonstrated just that at the James Smith Invitational. During her race, she passed a runner from another school who was struggling and had stopped mid-race. Ifeoma could have continued toward the finish line, but instead, she extended her hand and encouraged the opposing runner to hold on. She ran alongside her, offering support until the student was able to regain her pace.

This simple act of kindness was a powerful example of GRIT, something we strive to instill in our students throughout Red Oak ISD. Although Ifeoma did not know the other student, she recognized an opportunity to encourage and support someone who needed it.

Her actions speak volumes about her character and set an inspiring example for her teammates and others around her. When asked what sportsmanship means to her, Ifeoma said it means, “That you have to be your best while also acknowledging others and encouraging them to do their best.”

Ifeoma’s act of kindness is a reminder that true character is revealed not only in how we pursue our own goals, but in how we support others as they pursue theirs. On and off the course, she showed what it truly means to be a Hawk.

This hardworking group of choir students spent the day at Navarro College in Corsicana working alongside students from Ennis, Duncanville, and Cedar Hill High Schools on the All-State audition music!!! Great strides were made toward audition readiness!!!! Round One is on September 19!!! Let’s goooooooo Red Oak!!!! 🎉👏
