Update: As of 7:30PM Non emergency phone lines are working as normal

At 6PM tonight, March 31st the non emergency phone lines for Montgomery County and the Red Oak Police Department will be unavailable due to an upgrade. You can reach the Communications Center at 712-621-5267. The 911 lines will still work.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a Full-Time 911 Dispatcher for the County Emergency Communication Center.
Responsible for answering 911 calls and dispatching agencies for services; answering non-emergency phone calls for county and city law enforcement; operates radio console; enters and updates information in CAD and Iowa Teletype system; operates jail doors ,and any other duties that are needed. Training will be provided.
Must obtain CPR certification, Iowa/NCIC certification, Emergency Medical Dispatching certification. Must successfully complete all required training and maintain all certifications as needed. Must complete background investigation. Requires flexible hours for
scheduling. Starting wage $26.00 hour or more with experience.

Applications will be taken until February 6, 2026 @ 4pm.
