📢NEW LAW ALERT: Iowa Goes Hands-Free📢
Starting today July 1, 2025, Iowa’s updated hands-free driving law (Iowa Code 321.276) goes into effect.
What’s NOT allowed while driving:
❌Holding your phone — even at a stoplight
❌Typing, scrolling, or swiping
❌Entering addresses into GPS
❌Streaming videos or making video calls
❌Reading/viewing texts, videos, or social media
❌Calling or texting without hands-free/voice activation
What IS allowed (hands-free only):
✅Making calls or sending texts via voice command
✅Using speakerphone
✅Bluetooth-connected devices (car systems, earpieces, adapters)
✅Mounted devices using voice input only
✅Auxiliary cable connections for audio
🛑Bottom line🛑:
If you're holding it, scrolling it, or manually using it - it's illegal.
