School is back in session, Red Oak! That means it’s time for all of us to be a little more mindful behind the wheel:

📱 Text later. Drive now.
🚗 The speed limit is still the speed limit.
↔️ Use your blinker. We’re not mind readers.
🚸 Crosswalk = people crossing. Please act accordingly.
• 🛑 School zone = slow down.

Kinda chic to drive like you actually care.

This , we’re celebrating Lieutenant James “Jim” Langham and his decades of dedicated service.

After more than 40 years in law enforcement and more than 21 years with the Red Oak Police Department, Lieutenant Langham has officially retired.

He began his public service career in 1985 and joined in 2004, serving as a Police Officer, Patrol Sergeant, and Patrol Lieutenant. Throughout his career, he earned numerous certifications and awards, but his greatest impact can be seen in the officers he mentored, the colleagues he supported, Red Oak Police Explorers, and the community he served.

On Monday we gathered to celebrate Jim’s career and recognize the legacy he leaves behind at the Red Oak Police Department. Thank you, Jim, for more than four decades of dedicated, faithful, and selfless service.

Congratulations on your retirement; we wish you all the best in this next chapter!

Investing in our Red Oak Police Department!
On this , we'd like to highlight our Police Department and their dedicated efforts to ensure top-notch training for our officers! Earlier this month, Sgt. Gunning completed the FBI-LEEDA Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) hosted by Fort Worth PD, an advanced law enforcement leadership program designed to strengthen decision-making, communication, and organizational leadership skills, as seen in the photo above.

One of the goals at our Red Oak Police Department is for every supervisor to complete the FBI LEEDA Trilogy series. These courses help officers grow as leaders, expand their knowledge, and learn new skills they can bring back to the department. Currently, Chief Tijerina and Asst. Chief Schroeder have the Trilogy award, with many supervisors following closely. Lt. Esquibel and Lt. Meeks will be beginning their Trilogy training in the immediate future, and Lt. Schleif and Lt. Langham need one remaining class to complete their individual trilogy awards.

Congratulations to Sgt. Gunning on this accomplishment, and best of luck to the members of our command staff as they continue their work pursing a Trilogy award. We are proud of the high standards and professional development goals our Police Department continues to pursue, providing the best possible service to Red Oak residents.
