👑 The Montgomery County Fairboard is seeking candidates to be crowned as the 2026 Fair Queen!

The Fair Queen is an important part of the fair, as she is visible throughout the week of the fair, attends fair events, hands out ribbons, is a role model to the youth, has numerous photo opportunities and represents Montgomery County at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. Join us for a Showmanship Clinic while we gear up for county fair season! Learn from Montgomery County’s Livestock Superintendents and special guests, Beth McDermott & Baxter Knapp, as they share expert tips on daily care, show ring prep, and top-notch showmanship skills.

🔹4-H and FFA exhibitors must use FairEntry for ALL: 🐷 livestock, 🖼 static, 🎹 communications, 👚 clothing, and 🍽 table setting entries. (Clover Kids do NOT need to enter projects in FairEntry.)

Youth in grades 6–8 are invited to join The Science of BBQ Day Camp, where they’ll learn essential grilling techniques, explore the science behind meat, and practice safe food handling, all while creating the perfect burger!

The registration deadline for the Jam Making for Youth workshop is just around the corner! We still have a few spots available, so don’t miss your chance to grab one before they’re gone. 🍓

Participants will learn how to make and preserve delicious homemade jam, as well as how to dehydrate fruits. As a sweet bonus, each participant will take home TWO jars of their own homemade jam!

This workshop is on Tuesday, June 9th from 9:00- 1:30 PM at the Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Stanton and he cost is $55 per person.

To have:
- Clean and empty 16 oz water/soda bottles
- Clean and empty 2-liter soda bottles
- Newspapers

To borrow:
- Portable grills ( we will only need them on June 11, 2026).
