Red Springs Police Department conducted a traffic stop as a part the Southeastern North Carolina Violent Crimes Task Force Operation. During the traffic stop, Officers discovered that the driver, Jayquan McRae, had an outstanding Failure to Appear (FTA) for out of Moore County.

Jayquan McRae was arrested for the following charges:
- (M) Larceny
- (M) Poss. Stolen Goods

Red Springs Police Department conducted a traffic stop as a part the Southeastern North Carolina Violent Crimes Task Force Operation. Due to the totality of circumstances on the traffic stop, a K9 was requested to do an open-air sniff on the vehicle.

A vehicle search was conducted after the K9 gave a positive alert. Officers located 85 oxycodone pills, a bulk of U.S. currency, and other drug paraphernalia. All three individuals inside the vehicle were arrested and transported to the Robeson County Detention Center.

Bennie Henderson Jr. attempted to destroy drug paraphernalia by placing it in his mouth and crushing it with his teeth. He was arrested for the following charges:
- (F) Conspiracy to Sell/Deliver Sch. II CS
- (F) Alter/ Steal/ Destroy Criminal Evidence
- (M) Poss. Drug Paraphernalia

Lester Farrington was arrested for the following charges:
- (F) Conspiracy to Sell/Deliver Sch. II CS
- (F) Poss. Sch. II CS
- (F) PWIMSD Sch. II CS
- (F) Trafficking O***m or Heroine x2
- (F) Maintain Veh/Dwell/Place CS
- (M) Poss. Drug Paraphernalia
- (M) Reg Plate Improperly Attached

Glenda Callahan was arrested for the following charge:
- (F) Conspiracy to Sell/Deliver Sch. II CS

Farrington was given a $500,000 secured bond for his charges. Henderson Jr. was given a $10,000 secured bond for his charges. Callahan was given a $5,000 secured bond for her charge. Court documents for this case are available online via eCourts.

Red Springs Police Department conducted a warrant service as a part the Southeastern North Carolina Violent Crimes Task Force Operation. Officers made contact with Amber Locklear, 34, who had an unserved warrant for arrest. Officers placed Locklear under arrest for her Order for Arrest (OFA).

As a result, Amber Locklear was transported to Magistrate for the following charge:
- (M) Resisting Public Officer

Please join us in welcoming our newest addition to the Red Springs Police Department, Police Administrative Specialist, Alandra Davis.

Alandra is originally from North Carolina and brings prior experience in the legal field as a paralegal. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree at Appalachian State University in Criminal Justice and is excited to begin this new chapter serving the Town of Red Springs.

RED SPRINGS, NC (May 26, 2026)

Red Springs Police Department performed a routine traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration and an inspection violation. Officers made contact with Melissa Hunt, 54, who was the registered owner of the vehicle and had an unserved warrant for arrest. Officers placed Hunt under arrest for her Failure to Appear (FTA) out of Cabarrus County.

As a result, Melissa Hunt was transported to Robeson County Detention Center for the following charges:
- (M) DWLR not Impaired Rev.
- (M)Failure to Secure Passenger Under 16

RED SPRINGS, NC (May 25, 2026)

Red Springs Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance at McDonald's. Officers made contact with William Henry McRae, 67, who matched the description of the suspect and had been told numerous times previously not to return to the business. Officers also located drug paraphernalia on McRae while conducting a search incident to arrest.

As a result, William McRae was transported to Robeson County Detention Center for the following charges:
- (M) 2nd Degree Trespassing
- (M) Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia
- (M) Solicit Alm/ Beg for Money

RED SPRINGS, NC (May 24, 2026) - Red Springs Police Department responded to East Sunset Drive in reference to warrant service. Officers made contact with Thomas Felton Williams, who had unserved warrants, and fled on foot to avoid arrest. After Officers apprehended Williams, they found drug paraphernalia that he attempted to conceal in a closed fist.

As a result, Thomas Williams was transported to Robeson County Detention Center for the following charges:
- (M) Resisting Public Officer
- (M) Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia

Williams was also served with an outstanding Failure to Appear for the following charge
-(F) First Degree Burglary

Thomas Felton Williams was given a $20,500.00 secured bond. Court documents for this case are available online via eCourts.

RED SPRINGS, NC (May 18, 2026) - Red Springs Police Department responded to West Gate Apartments in reference to an assault. After arriving on scene and conducting an investigation, Officers placed Joshua Davis Barton under arrest.

As a result of the incident, Barton was transported to Robeson County Detention Center for the following charge:
- (M) Assault on a Female
