Exciting news! From September 3 through November 30, we're offering a FREE new program that can turn your food scraps into something valuable. All Red Wing residents can drop off food scraps at the Waste Campus (1873 Bench St.), free of charge, with proof of residency. During this time, the City is also running a curbside food scraps collection pilot in the Burnside South neighborhood. Eligible households have been notified and are encouraged to sign up and participate. To learn more, visit https://www.red-wing.org/1154/Food-Scraps-Collection-Pilot-Program

Did you know that about one-third of Red Wing’s waste is food scraps? Instead of incinerating them, we can turn these scraps into nutrient-rich compost that benefits gardens, improves soil, and supports local ecosystems. This program is funded by the City of Red Wing and a grant from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Together, we can make Red Wing more sustainable!

Cheers to the start of a new adventure! Otto's Public House, coming soon to the historic Armory Center in Downtown Red Wing, Minnesota! Built in 1901, the Armory and Masonic Hall was constructed to house Company G of the Minnesota National Guard. Today the Armory Center is home to numerous businesses and has boasted a bar and restaurant space in the basement for decades! Until Covid of course when the whole world changed. This space, once the beloved Marie's Underground and Taproom, has a long history of community but has been sitting abandoned for the last two years after a short lived stint as Fable's Kitchen and Bar. We hope you'll join us as we embark on a journey to bring this space back to life as Otto's Public House! More than just a bar, Otto's will be an embodiment of who we are, Lauren and Kyle Otto and together we will bring a welcoming pub emphasizing community, handcrafted flavor, and belonging to Red Wing!
