You might notice something a little different about us at the fire department soon…

Our uniforms may look a bit different, but it’s all for a great cause.

We’re proud to support Autism Awareness by wearing special shirts to help bring attention to an incredible group of kids and families in our community. This is something that hits close to home for many of us, and we’re honored to be part of it.

Along with that, the Red Wing Professional Firefighters Local 599 will be selling union shirts, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity that supports children with autism.

The Red Wing Fire Department is opening applications for a lateral firefighter/paramedic eligibility list. Applicants must possess both firefighter and paramedic certifications and have prior experience working as a full-time firefighter/paramedic.

Interested candidates may apply using the link on the city’s website. Please help spread the word, as the position opens today and will close on January 4, 2026.

A Huge Thank You, Red Wing community!

On behalf of the Red Wing Fire Department, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible community. This past week, during our Fill the Boot campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the people of Red Wing stepped up in a big way.

Because of YOUR generosity, your kindness, and your willingness to give, even if it was just a few dollars while rushing through your day. We were able to raise over $10,500 for MDA!

That’s more than just a number.
That’s life changing support for kids and families battling muscular dystrophy right here in Minnesota and across the country. It’s hope, strength, and it’s community in its purest form.

To the City of Red Wing, local businesses, and every single person who rolled down their window, reached into their pocket, or simply stopped to say thank you. You made this possible. We are proud to serve a community that cares so deeply.

🔥FILL THE BOOT IS BACK🔥

Hey Red Wing! Your local Firefighters will be out at the corner of HIGHWAY 61 & Plum St on 11/24/25, 11/26/25, and 11/28/25 supporting the MDA Fill the Boot campaign!

If you see us out there in our reflective vests, waving (enthusiastically… maybe too enthusiastically), we’re not trying to direct traffic, we’re just hoping you’ll help us fill those boots for a great cause. 👢❤️

Every dollar dropped in the boot helps kids and families living with muscular dystrophy. Even spare change helps. Yes, even that mystery quarter that’s been in your cupholder since 2018.

So swing by, honk, wave, donate, and please drive safely. We promise we’ll only dance in the street a little bit.

Hello Everyone! So the Red Wing Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 599 will be out and about in the community this week on and off doing fill the boot and taking charitable donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. It's been a long time tradition for firefighters since 1954! Today from 1pm until 3pm we will be out in front of Hanisch Bakery, so if you're feeling up to it come down and donate. We'd love to see you there!
