🏃Law Enforcement Torch Run🏃

Today, Law Enforcement Agencies including the California Highway Patrol, Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, Shasta County District Attorney’s Office, Shasta County Probation Department, and Redding Police Department joined forces with Special Olympic Athletes in the Law Enforcement Torch Run. All the athletes did an amazing job carrying the torch to the finish line! Thank you to everyone who showed their support!

🚨K-9 Drug Seizure🚨

On May 15, 2026, a California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer conducted an enforcement stop on a passenger vehicle on northbound Interstate 5 in the CHP Redding Area. Upon contacting the two occupants of the vehicle, the Officer observed multiple signs of criminal activity and requested a Canine Officer respond to the scene. The Canine Officer arrived on scene and utilized his canine partner, Judge, to conduct an exterior free air sniff of the vehicle. Judge alerted to the presence of the odor of narcotics emitting from within the vehicle. A search was conducted, and Officers located two kilograms of co***ne and 15 pounds of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

Our Canine Officers are working non-stop to keep us safe by removing these dangerous drugs from the highways and communities we protect. 🐾

Upon contacting the solo occupant of the vehicle, the officer observed multiple signs of criminal activity and requested a Canine Officer respond to the scene. The Canine Officer arrived on scene and utilized his canine partner, Robbie, to conduct an exterior free air sniff of the vehicle. Robbie alerted to the presence of the odor of narcotics emitting from within the vehicle. A search was conducted, and Officers located 30 kilos of suspected co***ne.

Our Canine Officers are working non-stop to keep us safe by removing these dangerous drugs from the highways and communities we protect. 🐾
