SHINE! Find your light and build your path to wellness at the 18th annual Minds Matter Mental Health Resource Fair.

Come explore ways to live well and support one another at this FREE, family friendly event.

At the event you can:
• Talk with mental health and substance use treatment providers.
• Take a mini workshop to expand your wellness toolbox.
• Listen to Brave Faces share their personal experiences with recovery.
• Get creative at the outdoor open art studio.

Resource fair
3 to 7 p.m. - Talk with over 40 different local organizations that provide treatment, programs, groups or other support.

Open art studio
3 to 7 p.m. - Indulge your creative side. A fully stocked art studio awaits you. Dabble with acrylics, watercolor, colored pencil, pen, pastels, charcoal or different types of graphite pencils. No experience needed. Try something new or take time with your favorite medium — just enjoy the exploration.

Brave Faces Talk - Crystal Hurlbert
4 p.m. – Meet Crystal - a student, volunteer and daughter. She once lived on the streets and struggled with addiction, homelessness and schizophrenia. With a community behind her, she got help and has become a strong advocate and voice for recovery. Crystal says, “I have overcome homelessness and now live in my first apartment. I have conquered drug addiction, and I am taking care of my mental health. Having support through these past years has shown me that other people really do care about me, and I let them know the real me. For the first time in my adult life, I feel free.”

Easy Steps to Self-Care – 5 Peaks Youth Solutions
4:45 p.m. - Get basic tools and strategies for building a self-care routine and learn how to take simple steps to make positive change in your life.

Brave Faces Talk and Joy in Motion Flag Workshop – Angel Inokon
5:30 p.m. - A graduate of Harvard and Stanford, Angel built a high-achieving career in tech and education, all while quietly carrying the weight of trauma, depression and chronic illness. After being diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurativa, a painful and often misunderstood skin disease, she began to speak out about what it means to look fine on the outside while fighting for your life on the inside.

After sharing her story, Angel will introduce one of her wellness tools – flag dancing. Learn to use simple weighted flags to create flowing, expressive movement that feels like flying. Through a quick, accessible technique, experience how motion, rhythm, and intention can turn weight into freedom and joy.

Sponsored by the Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency, in conjunction with the Stand Against Stigma Committee, and our many community partners and advisory boards. Funding for this event is provided through the Mental Health Services Act.
