SHINGLETOWN, CA – On Thursday, June 11, 2026, at approximately 10:47 a.m., fire personnel responded to a vegetation fire near the 29000 block of Wengler Hill Road. While resources were working to contain and suppress the fire, CAL FIRE Law Enforcement located a 28-year-old male from Sacramento near the fire’s area of origin.

Following an on-scene investigation, officers determined the individual was responsible for igniting the fire. He was subsequently arrested for violation of Penal Code 451(c): Arson of Forest Land.

CAL FIRE would like to remind the public to report any suspicious activity immediately. Early reporting can be critical in preventing wildfires and protecting our communities.
