Your past is part of your story, but it doesn't have to define your future.

The Youth Creating Change OYCR Challenge invites current and formerly incarcerated youth and young adults in California, ages 12–25, to share their story through art, video, digital media, or spoken word. This is an opportunity to reflect on your experiences, celebrate your growth, and express the hope you carry for your future.

Participants can create a 30–60 second video, digital artwork, social media-style graphic, or spoken-word piece inspired by prompts such as:
✨ "I Was, I Am, I Will Be"
✨ "Dear Future Me / Dear Future We"

Your story can help others understand your journey, recognize your strengths, and see the possibilities that lie ahead.

Created by teens, for teens, this California campaign helps young people recognize stress, build healthy coping skills, and create a personalized Pause Plan to navigate life's challenges. Whether it's taking a walk, talking with someone you trust, listening to music, or simply taking a breath, small moments of pause can help you reset and recharge.
