--The last day to register to vote for the June 2, 2026, Primary Election is May 18, 2026.
---All California active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the June 2, 2026, Primary Election.
----Your county elections office will begin mailing ballots by May 4, 2026.
-----Ballot drop-off locations open on May 5, 2026.
------Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or your county elections office.
Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked (not just dropped off)on or before Election Day and received by June 9, 2026.

Shasta County's Randomized Alphabet Drawing determines the order of the listing of candidates for State Assembly, District 1, on the June 2, 2026 Shasta County ballot in accordance with Elections Code 13111(e), and that this State Assembly district
encompasses more than one county. All other names for all the other races will be listed by using the random alphabet drawing conducted by the California Secretary of State in accordance with Elections Code 13112.

Charlene Osborn started working for the Shasta County Clerk & Registrar of Voters in 2012 as a Clerk/Elections Specialist I; since then, she has risen through the department to her current position as a Clerk/Elections Specialist III. With her more than 14 years of experience, Charlene is a wealth of knowledge, and she makes herself available to all who need assistance. During the last election there were significant changes to the process to allow for increased observation which affected the signature verification process. Charlene adapted well to these changes, while still maintaining excellent customer service to voters.
