Thanks to everyone who participated in our County Convention earlier today.

We elected a whole new team of officers, along with various committee members and chairs.

📣 SHASTA COUNTY DEMOCRATS 📣

Join us for our county convention! It is on July 18 from 10 am to Noon at 900 Locust Street, Redding. The Democratic Central Committee of Shasta County is holding a county convention to elect its officers and fill any vacancies in its supervisor district representatives. Snacks will be available. All Democrats are welcome!

We will start with some time to mingle and talk to candidates. After an introduction and explanation of the event, we will fill vacancies in supervisor districts 3 and 4 (Here is a district map). Any Democrat in those districts can run for the vacant seats, and any Democrat in the county can vote to fill the supervisor district representative seats. Candidates will have time to speak.

Then we will elect DCCSC officers, any member of the DCCSC can run to be an officer, including associate members (and any Democrat can join our organization at any time). There are seven officers roles including Chair, Vice Chair of Internal Organizing, Vice Chairperson of Grassroots Engagement, Treasurer, Secretary, Assistant Treasurer, and Parliamentarian. Candidates will have time to speak and voting will be sequential, so that any losing candidate can run for another seat. We will use ranked-choice voting to count votes by members, and any Democrat can become a member at the event so that they can participate in Officer elections.

Democrats from across the political spectrum are welcome to participate, whether you are centrist or socialist, we want you to come. We hope to see you there!

It’s official!

Our campaign is now officially endorsed by the Democratic Party! Between now and the general election in November, across our 11 counties of Northeast California, we need to door knock, phone bank, need friends to help us to host house parties/fundraisers, and need to reach as many potential voters as possible! Please join us! There’s never been a better time to flip this seat from red to blue for California government that is responsive to rural California after decades of being completely ignored. I’ll be listened to in Sacramento if you give me a shot at delivering for you! Let’s get to work! 🌲🙌
