Life Cycles is a non-profit bike shop that provides an array of services for low-income families in our community. It's Giving Tuesday! In these unprecedented times, let's come together to help struggling families in our community. We want them to know the love of Jesus and the ability to provide for their families. If you can, please donate a gift (monetary gifts are also accepted) to Living Hope Compassion Ministries. Your donation will go towards a Christmas storefront for parents to purchase new gifts at a discounted price, restoring their dignity. It also goes towards employing people during the holiday season. Please join us to restore hope, faith, and optimism this Christmas. For more details, please contact www.livinghoperedding.com or email: [email protected]. We thank you for your generosity.

Dignity For Christmas COVID-19 update:

At Living Hope Compassion Ministries, we want families that are struggling financially to experience the same joy that other families do on Christmas morning. We want them to know the love of Jesus and have the ability to provide for their families. With your help, Living Hope Compassion Ministries will be honoring struggling families and bringing dignity to the forefront.

This year, we are asking for 3,000 gifts to be donated. We will then set up a store-like scenario where the gifts will be sold at bargain or garage sale prices. For example, a $50 gift will cost roughly $3. We will also have wrapping stations where the parent(s) can wrap the gifts. Living Hope Compassion Ministries believes it is important for parents to be able to give their children gifts at Christmas. The ability to provide gifts brings dignity and joy during the Christmas season.

With the all the funds generated from the sales of the gifts, Living Hope Compassion Ministries will also be able to employ people during the holiday season. Funds generated by the sales will be used to hire workers for the store. This model will allow financially struggling families to purchase gifts for their families, and at the same time provide additional struggling families with opportunities to work!

We believe we can be both compassionate and responsible, caring without enabling. We truly believe that to do for others what they have the capacity to do for themselves is disempowering. At Living Hope Compassion Ministries, we want to be a positive change in this community. If you would like to partner with us, please visit our website for more details and information: www.livinghoperedding.com or email: [email protected].

Due to COVID 19, we will start sign-ups via email beginning at 8am Monday, November 16th. Emails received before this time will not be added to the master list for this event. Please email Michael at [email protected]. Please include your name, phone number, and the number of kids in your family. Phone calls will not be allowed for signing up, emails only. This is to ensure a first come first serve order. You will be contacted to set up an appointment for a private shopping date and time. Masks will be required for those entering the building for this event. We apologize for any inconvenience as we are only complying with state regulations for COVID 19.

For years Living Hope has taken a proactive versus a reactive approach to poverty in our community. We have been working with families before they fall of that financial cliff and become homeless. We have addressed the root causes of homelessness, and by doing so kept hundreds more off the streets.
Our next event will provide brand new school clothes, backpacks, haircuts, and other essentials for children to succeed this school year. If we invest in them now and give them a chance to succeed, hopefully they won't need us in the future.
For more details, message us. Read the comment below for a more elaborate explanation of how this program works.

It is with a heavy heart that I post this. Our friend Raul passed away this Memorial Day weekend. For those of you who had the pleasure to meet him and know his story, the impact he has made while here was, and still is reflected at Living Hope today. We met Raul 10 years ago. He was looking for work and Living Hope was looking to change how we did things. In the past we relied on volunteers to cook, clean, coordinate, and basically do everything. Raul was the first guy we spoke with about hiring and bringing a whole new approach to how we operated. So we hired him. Raul ran our kitchen during the week and was also the lead person with The Shack, our pop up restaurant. Raul was the beginning of something great. He demonstrated that when you give someone an opportunity and invest in them, lives can transform! Raul ended up landing a job and I know that he equally impacted those who grew to know him there. From time to time, Raul would stop in to catch up and chat. It would light up my day and remind me why we need to continue to invest in others. Raul was the beginning of something great. We showed him how to get a job, and he taught us a hundred different things about ourselves, and our organization. Rest in peace brother!

We can be reactive, or we can be proactive. We can build fences around our parks to hide the blight, we can cry and and complain about jails being full and criminals returning to the streets hours after being booked just to commit more crimes. Or...... we can be proactive. Lets start with the kids right here, right now. Lets break the generational cycle of poverty and the systemic results of it. Lets give them a chance. Lets not see them 10 years from now in front of the liquor store with a 40 oz of beer. Lets not complain about them filling up the jail in 15 years. Lets be proactive. We Got Your Back.

We Got Your Back

Living Hope’s Back To School Event

Imagine being 14 years old. It’s your first day of high school. Your shoes are scuffed up, your clothes have a few stains on them, and your zipper doesn’t work on your backpack. High school kids are quick to pick up on their peer’s imperfections, and they aren’t shy about letting others know. First impressions are unbelievably important. After hearing many stories from those we serve, we decided to address this issue. We recognize self-esteem, self-confidence, and dignity, are important for early childhood development.
At Living Hope we love our neighbors and want to assist them in making the back to school season a little bit easier.
This summer, we are asking the community for 500 pairs of shoes, socks, underwear, and backpacks. In addition to this we’re also asking for 2,000 outfits, pens, and pencils, and 50 bike helmets. We will then set up a store like scenario where the items will be sold at bargain prices. For example, a $35 backpack will cost roughly $5. This dignity based event will also have $2 dollar haircuts and free bicycle safety education!
Living Hope Compassion Ministries recognizes it is important for parents to be able to give their children the necessary items to equip them for school. With the funds generated from the sale of the schools supplies, Living Hope Compassion Ministries will also employ parents that have additional needs during the back to school season. This model will allow financially struggling families to purchase school gear for their families, and at the same time provide other families with opportunities to work and earn money.
Living Hope Compassion Ministries is a positive change in this community. If you would like to partner with us, please contact Living Hope for more information. [email protected] or, 530-243-8066.

They truly have compassion for everyone that walks through their doors. Their food co op is very helpful. Jordan leads a wonderful and very meaningful devotion right after breakfast. My husband and I love the atmosphere and feel right at home .
