First 5 Shasta First 5 Shasta is building a pathway to success for children. We invest in early childhood from 0-5.

Investing in early childhood through available grants for programs, services, and activities and offering parent and provider education. To date, our investment in Shasta County's young children ages 0-to-5 has grown to over $20 million...and they are worth it! Investing early prompts optimal child development, healthy brain development, building of strong basic skills, physical, cognitive, social

and emotional. And all this gets children on the pathway to success in kindergarten, in school, and in life. Our investment is excellent for children and benefits the whole community for generations to come.

Last month, we wrapped up Week of the Young Child and Child Abuse Prevention Month with our Second Annual State of Early Childhood event! 💙

This special event celebrated the incredible work being done to support children and families throughout Shasta County, and we were honored to recognize several outstanding community partners making a lasting impact:

🏆 Family-Friendly Business of the Year: Rocha's Auto Service

🏆 Family First Policies Award: Redding Rancheria

🏆 Children’s Event & Activity Leadership Award: Shasta Family YMCA

🏆 Early Development Leadership Award: Redding Recreation

🏆 Community Children’s Champion Award: Todd Jones, President & CEO of the Redding Chamber of Commerce

Thank you to these amazing leaders and organizations for helping create a stronger, safer, and more supportive community for children and families in Shasta County. Together, we are building brighter futures for our youngest children. 🌟
