🎓 Student Teachers: You May Be Eligible for a $10,000 Stipend!

Preparing to become a teacher? The Student Teacher Stipend Program (STSP) provides $10,000 stipends to eligible student teachers during clinical practice—helping reduce financial barriers as you complete your teacher preparation program.

Eligible candidates must be enrolled in a Commission-approved program leading to a qualifying preliminary teaching credential and meet clinical practice requirements. Clinical practice must begin on or after July 1, 2026.

Our community's strong partnerships are helping keep food on families' tables. September is Hunger Action Month, and today we celebrated a $2,500 donation from Rogue Credit Union to Connected Living's Shasta County Food Bank, which supplies 34 school-based food pantries and grab-and-go shelves in Shasta County. Through SCOE's Youth Support Services program, 52 school sites across 21 districts benefit from food bank donations. Maggie Joyce, SCOE’s director of youth support services, had the honor of thanking Rogue Credit Union and the food bank for helping support students beyond the school day, and for being all in for our community. 🖐️ HAPPY FRIDAY, SHASTA COUNTY! 🎒✨ Welcome to this week’s FIVE FOR FRIDAY! From hands-on learning to big campus wins, our local schools brought all the energy this week. Here are five highlights from our feeds:
🦉4th and 5th graders at Anderson Heights Elementary School hosted an epic owl pellet dissection day, inviting their 1st-grade buddies along to investigate ecosystem food chains hands-on!
🍕Castle Rock School is making all of us hungry! Students showed off their delicious homemade pizza, fresh salads, and fruit trays.
☕ Enterprise High School’s WE NOT ME students got a major boost thanks to generous local business donors who gifted them a brand-new coffee cart and operating supplies. Campus brews and delicious treats are coming soon!
🎒Fall River Jr. Sr. High School wrapped up an amazing first week back on campus, carrying great momentum into the new school year ahead!
🎾 The West Valley High School Lady Eagles tennis team hit the court running, serving up a dominant performance to secure their very first WIN of the season!
