***UPDATE ON SIMPAUG TURNPIKE***
🚗 SIMPAUG TURNPIKE IS NOW CLOSED AT ROCKLEDGE ROAD due to DEEP water across the roadway and deterioration of the pavement below. There is a detour in place up Picketts Ridge Road to the north and Topstone Road to the South. Metro North Railroad and CT DOT Rail Division are aware of the condition and are making arrangements to mitigate the issue.

This detour will be in place until the water recedes. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND IF THIS IS YOUR COMMUTING ROUTE TOMORROW.

Eversource field crews are currently on Umpawaug Road working actively to repair the widespread damage from the recent storm. Because Friday night's severe thunderstorms brought down multiple trees and complex high-voltage lines, there is no current estimate for restoration.

▪️Keep Lines Clear: Please do not call the police department or 911 dispatch to ask when your power will return.
▪️Our Dispatchers Do Not Know: Emergency dispatchers do not have access to Eversource restoration timelines, and these non-emergency inquiries tie up critical lines needed for active emergencies.
