Whether you’re traveling, spending time at the lake, grilling with family, or attending community events, please:
• Buckle up
• Don’t drink and drive
• Slow down and stay alert
• Watch for motorcycles, ATVs, and pedestrians

Most importantly, take a moment this weekend to honor those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Today’s Special Olympics Torch Run was a wonderful reminder of what community is all about. ❤️🔥

Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer on the runners, wave signs, honk horns, donate, volunteer, and support the incredible athletes of Special Olympics. Your encouragement and support mean more than words can express.

A special thank you to all participating volunteers, schools, businesses, and community members who helped make today such a success. Seeing our community come together for such an amazing cause was truly inspiring.

Most importantly — thank you to the athletes for reminding us all what determination, courage, and heart look like every single day.

We are proud to support Special Olympics and honored to be part of such an incredible event. 💙🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🔥

Join us for the torch run around 2:30 starting at the courthouse ending in front of the school!

🔥🏃‍♀️ The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics South Dakota is returning to Redfield on Tuesday, May 12th! 🏃‍♂️🔥

The Spink County Sheriff’s Office is proud to help coordinate this incredible event as local law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes carry the Flame of Hope through our community. ❤️💙

📍 Route Details:
• Start: Spink County Courthouse — 2:30 PM
• Route: 7th Ave & Main Street
• Finish: Redfield Public School

We encourage all businesses, residents, families, and community members to line Main Street between 2:30–2:45 PM to cheer on the runners and show them a big REDFIELD welcome! 👏🇺🇸

Your support means the world to these athletes and helps celebrate inclusion, determination, and community spirit.

This week, we proudly recognize National Police Week — a time to honor the men and women in law enforcement who serve and protect our communities every day.

The Spink County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank all law enforcement officers, past and present, for their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to keeping our communities safe. We especially remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage and service will never be forgotten.

Behind every badge is a person who misses holidays, works long nights, answers difficult calls, and shows up when people need help the most. We are grateful for the continued support from our community and for the opportunity to serve Spink County each and every day.
