I know you all have seen the smoke and many of you are concerned. At the time 9pm there is not any homes in danger. Forestry almost has a plow line around it. They will shortly. It will be monitored all night and next couple of days. The fire was several hundred acres. I want to thank all of our volunteer firefighters at Redfield, Hardin Volunteer fire dept, Oak Grove Volunteer Fire dept and the Arkansas Forestry. Here is a few pictures and video.

I apologize I have been busy and have not been able to post this till now.
If the power goes out do not try to heat your home with your gas stoves or ovens.
Do not use grills (gas/charcoal/pellet.)
Do not run generators in your house or garage.
All the above can causes carbon monoxide poisoning which can kill.
Open cabinet doors so heat can get to you pipes to keep them from freezing. Also set your faucets to drip both hot and cold water.
Some ways to stay warm if power goes out. Set a tent up in your home and cover it with blankets and stay in it. Open blinds during sunlight hours so sun can help heat your home.
Remember our response time will be a lot longer if you call.
We are praying for all of your safety through this.

I normally would not post on something this far in advance, but things look very concerning. We ask for every one to start preparing now
We hope and pray the weather people are wrong!!! Somethings are still unsure with the weather, but what is for sure is we are going to get extremely cold weather with some kind of frozen moisture.
Temperatures will go below freezing Friday and will not get above freezing until Tuesday. We will see temperatures in single digits at times with wind chills below zero. With the moisture coming in the unknown at this time is ice, snow, or both. The amount looks like a lot of what ever it is. The chances of power outage for days for parts of our district is very likely, especially if it is ice.
This weather will slow our response times down a lot. It will not only slows ours down but it will do the same to EMS (EASI), law enforcement, and tow trucks. Plan and prepare now.
Plan for food preparation without power. Plan how to stay warm and heat without power. Plan medications for during this time.
We are praying for everyone to be safe and warm!
