Loved seeing how creative everyone got with their burlap door hangers last night. See everyone next month for our next Adult Craft Night on November 18th.

Hello library friends. We are excited to be gearing up to participate in Trunk or Treat this year. If you'd like to help make this event a success we would greatly appreciate candy donations. Donations can be dropped off anytime we are open, or they can even go in the book drop if the candy bag fits inside the drop slot. As always, thank you for supporting your local library.

We have been busy creating exciting new spaces at the library! Books (and we have LOTS of them) will always be the core of our library, but libraries are so much more than just books. Due to the generosity of the Dallas County Foundation and the Norma Jean Warner Trust we were able to bring more STEAM learning and makerspace opportunities to our library! We are so grateful for their kindness of supporting public libraries. What does this mean for our patrons......we will now have STEAM bags to Go that can be checked out. We currently have bags with activities ranging from toddler - 8th grade. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning encourages creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking among many more things and is great for all ages. The youth makerspace will be used for both programming and for independent use and the supplies will rotate so it isn't always the same. We are currently creating policies for our Cricut and 3D printer. These items will be used for programming and once policies are in place will be available for individual patron use as well. We hope many community members will enjoy these new spaces and benefit from the STEAM to Go bags. Stop in and see our improved spaces sometime!
