Spink Conservation District

Spink Conservation District The Spink Conservation District provides many environmental services to the producers of Spink County. We are also a dealer for Millborn Seeds.

The Spink Conservation District was established in 1941 and lies within and includes all land in Spink County. The James River flows through the county from north to south. Spink County offers an abundance of outdoor recreation, including excellent pheasant and whitetail deer hunting. The James River and numerous lakes provide for fishing, boating and other water related activities. The Spink Cons

ervation District provides many services to the producers, such as tree belt planning, tree planting, fabric application, handplant sales, grass seeding, chemical application, and clipping. We can order many types of grass seeds, cover crops, alfalfa, flowers, and lawn seed.

We are winding down our Facebook posts about what we have for sell this year, but that just means plants are coming in and it is getting busy. For our last Native Plant Wednesday, we are featuring ALL OF THEM!! We are able to get 6-packs of so many native plants. There are so many reasons to plant native plants in your landscape. We talk a lot about our pollinators but we can not forget about our birds! These native plants provide food and habitat for them as well. Check out the link below for a SDSU Extension publication about birds and native plants for some great ideas!
